Bloodthirsty Sword, developed and published by 月龙千叶, is an indie action game that leans fully into dark fantasy sensibilities, built around the idea of a cursed, sentient blade that can only be controlled through constant violence. Rather than easing players into its world, the game throws them directly into combat-heavy progression, establishing early on that survival requires feeding the sword with the blood and life force of enemies. This premise gives the game a distinct identity—your weapon is not simply a tool but a hunger-driven companion—and that thematic tension shapes nearly every facet of the experience. Everything you do consumes stamina, but fortunately it doesn’t get in the way of the action. Since the sword is the only weapon you wield, there’s no other equipment to worry about. You can also forget about traders and currency. The only things that drop from enemies and rare destructible objects are health pickups, which automatically fly to you. You move along a linear path while killing repetitive enemies and earning experience that gr…
