Bloody Mary: Forgotten Curse claims to be an open world horror game, which is debatable. Sure, you can explore an open island, but there's only one objective: find the 7 items. Seem familiar? It is a Slender-like game. Are Slender games usually considered and categorized as open world? Hum... I was excited at first, as the concept of an open world survival horror game is very interesting to me, but quickly realized there is not much of a player choice in this. The game starts well, inside a cave, makes you wonder why you are here and where you are but then the problems start. First of all, you are supposed to go down a hole by traversing down to the lower rocks. The problem is, if you jump, you will get fall damage, if you just walk out of the platform, you might still get fall damage. My first death was here, because I jumped on the first one, and just let myself fall on the following ones, but when I reached the ground, I guess I had suffered too much damage. Is this supposed to make the player seem fragile from the get-go? If so, fair enough, it's not really a big complaint, but it just adds to the list. Once you are out of the cave, you find a list of items to …

I HIGHLY recommend this open world horror adventure game! If you're into games like Slenderman, Amnesia, and Outlast; this game is perfect for you. There are so many incredible elements to not just the gameplay, but to the story, visuals, and sound design as well! I have never been more scared in a video game before, especially an indie one at that. For me, the sound design, music, and general atmosphere is what makes Bloody Mary definitely worth checking out. I jumped out of my chair more time than I would like to admit and throughout the whole game, I just had chills down my spine. Such an incredible atmosphere they have created. Everything I encountered and ran through was smooth and polished yet menacing in the best way possible. My favorite part hands down is the flashlight. It is your best friend and worst nightmare. I think Fargamer Studios nailed the mechanics on the flashlight as it never showed too much, but just enough to give you the scare you need and the stone walls you'll inevitably run into. I could go on and on all day about what I love but here a few things that I think can be improved. I think the panting of the main character is a bit too much sometimes and that…

The game occupies only 800MB on my system which is impressive considering the fact that the game map is quite large. Requirements are also considerable, I had a constant 60 fps when I played the game and I do not have a great PC. The atmosphere is what highlights the game for the better, a completely overnight forest with supernatural creatures waiting to kill you in the complete dark, it`s really scary... i almost scream when i got out for the first time into the forest and saw one particular scary ugly creature ... In terms of bugs, not many honestly, no crash or freezes happened. There has been a situation where one of the creatures was in the cemetery and when I touched the creature it disappeared. Other than that, the game has no bugs at all. It would be nice to see an Audio option in the menu to increase / decrease the sound of the game. Perhaps adding a few more creatures and objects to make the environment more dynamic would be a good idea as well. I love the game, anyone can play it and guaranteed you'll be scared when you play :)

You've been here before if you played low grade Slender type games. One large map with seven items to find. Finding an item triggers a baddie which walks around for a few moments before disappearing. You'll run in the large map from location to location and there may be creatures in the woods which will just disappear after they are triggered for a few moments or you just outrun them. Honestly, the first one I saw was stuck in the gate of the "House" area and it looked like a ghost chicken spreadeagled. I think they are supposed to be baby ghosts? At the beginning of the game your journal details what the entire story is. Exploration for notes and other story items is pointless in the game., There are small arbitrary scrawlings or notes that do nothing to add to the story. You are just supposed to find the seven items, drop them in the lake, the exit is highlighted and "Game Over" when you go there. No additional story. No bosses. Nothing. It's absolutely not worth 10 bucks. 2 bucks is about where this game should be and you should only bother to play it if you are really bored with nothing else to do.
