About The Designer's Curse Chapter 2 - Forgotten Horrors

Note: You don’t need to have played the first chapter to enjoy this one.At 15 years old, I released my first survival horror game on Steam, The Designer's Curse, a game inspired by influential old-school horror titles such as Amnesia and Penumbra. Now, after finally finishing uni, I'm excited to bring you Chapter Two, Forgotten Horrors—an engaging survival horror experience. Explore Shaw Well Manor once more, uncovering its dark secrets and immersing yourself in it's tenebrous atmosphere. Featuring incredible original music by Mikko Tarmia, known for his work on Amnesia and SOMA, the game delivers a hauntingly beautiful experience. With advanced physics-based gameplay (inspired by the works of Frictional Games) and terrifying creatures roaming the manor, you'll navigate its eerie halls as Albert, uncovering a story shrouded in mystery. With satisfying, immersive physics inspired by the works of Frictional Games, the game's world is just at your fingertips.I made this game pretty much on my own, coding away in my university dorm—though I had some help from a few talented friends. After all that work, I’m so proud to say it’s finally finished. As you explore, you can physically jot down your own notes in the inventory to keep track of vital clues. A built-in notebook also logs solved puzzles, ensuring you never lose progress.

Recently played the game on stream and was so excited to give it a go as the first game was absolutely amazing with its scares. This one definitely expands on what made the first one amazing and brings in even more horrors. Its amazing how the game conveys a feeling of vulnerability while in a big area as you feel so small. The design of the environment as well as the monsters I feel is very unique as well and well done. Being in the environment is absolutely amazing in the fear that it gives you. Amnesia being an inspiration is also a plus and I can't wait to see where the next chapter leads to. Definitely worth the wait between the 2 chapters and will definitely be eagerly waiting for the next one to come out. Keep up the amazing work!

I played both chapters of The Designer's Curse and Forgotten Horrors was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was thick, the monsters were very reactive and scary, and the puzzles were fun and had the extra challenge of avoiding the creatures. The mechanics in the game were very smooth and really made it feel like I was surviving. There's also a funny back and forth in the later part of the game, that I really enjoyed!

Been waiting for this since the release of chapter one. And I have to say 6 years later, the wait was worth it. Genuinely one of the best indie horror games I've ever played. Highly recommend.

The production quality in this chapter of the series is a noticeably impressive jump from the first game! You can really tell that the developer cares about their craft and even did some of their own voice acting! Amazing Game, amazing atmosphere, amazing suspense.
