About Blue Lightning
Originally released in 1989 as a launch title for the Atari Lynx handheld console, Blue Lightning saw players take control of a top-secret high-tech fighter jet. Now, relive those days in this remastered emulated version.
Armed with an 81 mm cannon and guided missiles, penetrate enemy territory and fly nine crucial missions. The Blue Lightning is capable of barrel rolls to dodge enemy fire, and is equipped with powerful afterburners that give a 10 second speed boost.
This enhanced version introduces a number of modern features to this retro classic, including:

Blue Lightning developed but Epyx, Inc. and published by Pixel Games UK is one of several games I had my Atari Lynx and I personally agree with the singular review prior to mine, it is slow, but considering what we had a the time, was quite impressive, especially that it was all on a handheld gaming unit, which at that time the only thing that could compare was the Sega Game Gear. This game for what is was one of the many standouts on the Lynx and I played it then just like I do now, I find it fun for what it is, and expect nothing more. I suppose if you have played the original version, you might get some sense of nostalgia out of this, but for me, it's a painfully slow game. There is no sense of speed whatsoever, and the aircraft movement is just plain weird. Trying to make sense of what is oncoming is nigh on impossible as it'll be just a black rectangle to start with. At least it's cheap.3 found this helpful
