I got this for free for my birthday, so understand that when I'm giving it a negative review, I mean it and I'm not just annoyed at losing time and money. This game has tremendous potential-- it combines tower defense with map exploration and acquiring locations on the map like Master of Magic or Heroes-- then it does the unforgivable crime of perma-killing me in a boss wave 10 or 20 waves into my first game. It's got some cool ideas to differ it but I like Emberward better
Nice take on a tower defense game. Solid play, sessions end up a comfortable length for single sitting. Graphics are pleasant. Doesn't take forever to unlock everything, I have 100% completion and have messed around for several for more sessions at 30 hrs, there's no reason to stop playing at unlock you just have everything. All that for around the price of a Starbucks.
A fun simple roguelite tower defense game. I like the way you explore the map and build your resources
Pretty interesting tower defense with roguelite ways to handle its game progression. You'll find yourself getting stronger by playing each game and reaching achievements, which will provide you additional bonuses to the next time you play and unlock additional features and choices to the game. Two of the major unlocks are the additional choices, the additional class, the Druid, and the additional map, the large map. As you keep playing, the game gets easier because you keep getting additional bonuses.
It's an ok tower defense game. Towers feel a little basic and I wish they defaulted to first instead of close targeting but it works. It uses extensive AI generated art, which I personally don't like. The classes feel very same-y, with the only difference between the starting one and the 2nd one being 1 tower (out of the 5 in the loadout) and the 2nd class has an extra spell. The exploring mechanic to get income is the most unique mechanic and I enjoyed it. Balancing looking for spots to build towers, resource nodes, or extending the path with the limited number of tile reveals per wave was generally a fun choice. Ultimately, I got the game on sale and feel I am getting my money's worth.
