What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players appreciate this college football strategy game for its depth and long-term replayability, with some praising it as a solid alternative to newer titles. However, common complaints include significant bugs like crashes requiring frequent saving and simulation degradation after multiple seasons, along with outdated menus and mechanics that make it feel dated compared to newer options on the market.
yes, I have killed a lot of time on this game.
Love this game! It's the BEST college football strategy game on Steam. However, there are 2 bugs. One is that you need to save after every week to avoid crashing. And after about 5+ seasons it just stops simulating correctly. However, if the game developer fixes these two bugs and updates the game a bit - I think a Bowl Bound 2 would do very well! -Steve
If your PC can't handle the new CFB game. This + mods is a great replacement
great game
Been playing this game for close to 2 decades now. Honestly it can be as deep or as simple as you want it to be. I tend to let my Coordinators handle gameplan duties, which makes picking your coaching staff pretty important. When it comes to the actual games, I handle the offensive playcalling and let my DC handle the defensive calls. I have always loved this game and I recommend it for sure but it is not for everyone and I understand that.
This game was great for its time, but that time has unfortunately passed. The menus and mechanics are very outdated. Still a worthy game, but I recommend doing some research first, as there are now better CFB games on Steam that are priced lower.
