About BOXROOM
Do you miss running your finger along the spines of all your game boxes, deciding what you might be in the mood to play? Do you long for instruction manuals, inlays, and that intoxicating plasticky smell when you crack open a new box and bury your nose inside. Ahhh. BOXROOM is a shrine to all of that; a little space to call your own, and a way to explore and interact with your game library in a more meaningful way. It's a throwback to the bedrooms and game-spaces of yesteryear - a place for shelves, cabinets and curated displays, for posters, figurines and collectors items. It's also a game, if you want to call it that; a design/decorator-sim giving you the space to put a stamp on your Steam library and game collection. After setting up your room and preferred shelving arrangement, the game will boot your ACTUAL Steam library onto the shelves - giving you space to arrange, curate and explore your collection as you see fit. Put your feet up! Sit back and soak in the space. You can then share your room with a friend (or your mortal enemy I suppose) to show off your collection in all its glory.
- Build, design and arrange your game room
- Populate your shelves with your actual game library, direct from Steam
- Search the BoxCo Catalogue for your preferred furniture and furnishings
- Secret figures, collector's editions and upgrades based on certain games - how many are hiding in your collection?
- Pick up, inspect and re-arrange your game-boxes as you see fit
- Boot your games....from BOXROOM!
- Share your rooms with friends and show off your collection
- Integrate your own items and textures with Steam Workshop functionality.

I was genuinely excited for Box Room, expecting it to become my go-to virtual game room where I could display my Steam library and create my dream gaming space. Unfortunately, the reality was incredibly disappointing. Customization is also extremely limited. There are only a handful of furniture items, paint colours, carpets, and decorations, and most of them feel uninspired. For a game that’s supposed to be about creativity and building your perfect gaming room, the lack of options is shocking. Game covers have to be added manually unless you use a third-party tool, but even that doesn’t work properly. Around half of my Steam library wasn’t recognised, and creating custom game cases for missing titles seems either incredibly difficult or impossible. The controls are clunky, object placement can be frustrating, and deleting items is far too easy with a simple misclick. The whole building experience feels rough and unpolished. There are so many features that could make this game great. Let us create completely custom game cases without needing to link them to Steam. Let us upload our own images for posters, artwork, and decorations instead of only using game covers or screenshot…5 found this helpful
I spent a good hour and a half just trying to sort my games. the search feature only shows like 20-50 games at a time. so while i was trying to put my games in that order i found that it was very difficult to do so with the limited showing of titles. the box art didn't show up and while i did see other reviewers mention ways to put the art on there it's not clear from the get go. that being said the search feature was only half working too. some games you could search and others you couldn't. and i found out that those games can actually appear inside the box as is without the search feature which was inconvenient since i found out after i spent time to put my 250+ on shelves and then found games that would fit somewhere in the middle of my alphabet. the catalog was confusing as well as it didn't do much to inform me what was in each without opening them. i also had problems with placing furniture it would seem to always be facing the opposite direct you want it to be facing. (Devs if you read this add an arrow or line in the preplace shape in the front to make it more clear) the furniture also seemed limited but i'd expect to be expanded in the future, so i won't say too much ab…1 found this helpful

I love what they have done so far and I love the idea! It's great that I can launch the game from my virtual bookshelf in my virtual room. I really hope that they continue to add more decorations and features in the future. It would be great if they partnered with more game developers to add more figurines, plushies, or other digital collectables to display as decor in your Boxroom. I look forward to see what is added in the future!
Amazing game for people looking to show-off their steam libriaries in a more personalized way and really express their taste.
