I've figured out how to play this game. The songs it comes with are so bad, but fortunately it's not a rhythm game like beat saber or ragnarock. The punches are so slow that any music works with it, so in Windows 11 you can just right click the speaker icon in the bottom right of the taskbar and open the volume mixer after the game is open, then under apps mute the BoxVR game (click the speaker icon to the left of the blue volume bar) and it will remember the decision even after shutting down the computer and coming back. Then open a browser and play music from some youtube music playlist (for me it's a DECO*27 playlist right now or any vocaloid music, maybe Mesmerizer which the live 2025 version is amazing), set the volume from youtube and it'll play through your VR headset! You can get a workout and strengthen your punching muscles too, maybe it'll come in handy in a real life self defense scenario (likely not, but why not as long as I'm trying to get in a workout?). I checked youtube for some training tips on how to box and I'm set! Make sure you don't uppercut your VR headset! I slightly did this once!2 found this helpful
To this day, BoxVR remains as a reliable, engaging, fun, and easy-to-use VR workout game. I always work up a sweat when I play it, and adding your own songs is easy peasy.2 found this helpful
It's a great way to stay in shape.2 found this helpful
> hasn't received an update since 2020 > still on a unity version with vulnerabilities > capped at 60fps even when my vr is 90hz sadly fit xr (or fit vr, whatever it is) isn't on pc.. well i cant find it anywhere. maybe just get beat saber, or look for something else because im as clueless as you are. i will say, the core gameplay is alright. i like how it's not beat saber. more punching and stuff. but thats all its got to it
BoxVR no longer lets me play the game. I can get into the menu, choose which user I am, but it won't let me start a workout or create a personal playlist anymore. Has anybody out there got this game still working?
Wow, $30 for an abandoned game. The developer has made a subscription-based version of this and stopped developing this one even though there are still a lot of bugs, and was supposedly going to be continually coming out with new content. Not much new content came out (two DLC packs); I guess the developer decided they'd rather charge for the base game each month rather than have to develop new content in order to get more money. It was never worth $30 dollars to begin with. If you're into cardio kickboxing, it's OK (but not worth the money), but if you're interested in actual boxing then I would stay away from this as it teaches bad form and habits.
