About BROK the InvestiGator - Prologue

Narrative-driven game that blends action, puzzles and investigation in never-before-seen ways. Will you use your brain... or your brawn?

In a futuristic "light cyberpunk" world where animals have replaced humans, privileged citizens live under a protective dome from the ambient air pollution while others struggle to make a living on the outside.

Brok, private detective and former boxer, lives with Graff, the son of his deceased wife. Although he could never elucidate the nature behind her accident, recent events may shed some light on an even more tragic outcome... one that may be linked to their own existence.

Will they be able to withstand the threats of this corrupted world and face their own destiny?

This prologue contains the first chapter (out of six in the final game)

BROK the InvestiGator - Prologue is a surprisingly unique mix of point-and-click adventure gameplay and beat’em up combat that somehow works much better than it sounds. You play as Brok, a detective/alligator trying to navigate a futuristic world full of mysteries, strange characters, and social inequality, while also occasionally punching people in the face instead of solving problems peacefully. What immediately stands out is how much personality the game has. The world is colorful, the characters are memorable, and the writing balances humor, mystery, and emotional moments surprisingly well. Even in the short prologue, it does a good job making you interested in the setting and the relationship between the characters. The gameplay combination is also genuinely refreshing. Most adventure games stick purely to puzzles and dialogue, but BROK lets you approach situations through either investigation or combat depending on how you want to play. It gives the game a much more active feel than traditional point-and-click titles. The art style also deserves credit. The cartoon visuals and animated presentation give the game a Saturday morning cartoon vibe while still handling darker t…

BROK the InvestiGator: Prologue is one of those games that becomes interesting almost immediately because of how unusual its design philosophy feels. Instead of staying within the limits of a single genre, it combines elements that normally exist separately and attempts to make them work together. At its core, it is a detective adventure filled with exploration and dialogue, but it also introduces direct combat and side-scrolling action mechanics. The result is something the game describes as a blend between point-and-click gameplay and beat 'em up action, creating an experience that feels different from most traditional adventure titles. The story takes place in a futuristic world populated by anthropomorphic animals where society itself appears heavily divided. Wealth and privilege separate people into different living conditions, creating an environment where some enjoy comfort while others struggle with far harsher circumstances. This setting gives the game more depth than its colorful appearance initially suggests. Beneath the cartoon visuals and humor are themes involving inequality and social division that help make the world feel more believable and layered. Players take …
Trigger Warning: Furries. This advertisement contains anthropomorphic animal characters.
"BROK the InvestiGator - Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Brok the InvestiGator". Brok the InvestiGator is a furry/scaley fan-fiction cringe effort about the developer and the death of his imaginary wife, who is an alligator. Steam furry fan-fiction writers sure have vivid imaginations, but this is cringey enough to make you throw up. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Brok the InvestiGator, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "BROK the InvestiGator - Prologue" too. The goal here is to get you to spend $20 USD[/b…
