9/10 Brukel is an exploration game reliving the memories of a grandmother told in her own voice. Haunting, beautiful, and extremely memorable. My takeaway: Brukel was a beautiful gameplay experience. It’s a first person exploration game where you traverse an old home of your grandmother in an abandoned home, all voiced by the woman herself as she retells stories. The gameplay itself was smooth and in my time playing it I encountered no bugs. The main mechanic is the player taking photos of objects followed by stories being told of the object. It left such a strong impression on me and was done in a way that was tactful, informative, and memorable. I’ve cried for this grandmother and her experience surviving through World War II. It took me ~2 hours to fully complete this title with all achievements. No cards. I only wish the artstyle and recorded voice was a little crisper. Some parts of the game were much more detailed than others but even with the lackluster art, the story was enough to keep me hooked from start to finish. This game is a short walking simulator (mostly) about the experiences of a WWII survivor. It is a story of a home haunted, not by ghosts but, by memories. At 90 minutes, it's still a better buy than most movies.1 found this helpful
Finally played this game, after it was in my library forever. Good game. Walking sim with story, and horror elements. Good atmosphere. Fun.

A great bit of personal history with a strong atmosphere and character
An emotionally strong and beautiful game. Like the creator's grandmother, mine too had similar stories from WWII that she narrated for me when I was younger. It was a privilege to be able to go through the stories of Bie in such animated manner. Thank you for this historical and socially important gem!
