About Brutal Ball
Brutal Ball is a multi-perspective option shooter that is also a deadly sport set on far away bizarre alien arena locations. Each team has a two meter tall spiked ball that can be controlled and thrown. In addition to its deadly spikes, the ball’s electric field will damage players if any contact is made. The ball will decrease in size depending on how many kills a team has. As the spiked ball shrinks, the ball becomes a more effective weapon and easier to shoot goals with. Oh yeah, players can also shoot their opponents if that is what they are into. Four different gauntlet weapons that cater to different play styles are available to choose from. Points are given for goals, and from traditional kills.
Player motivation: As a hybrid, Brutal Ball has the strengths of both multi-view shooter and regular team-sports games. The game offers players a competitive environment with team building elements in addition to kill or be killed action. Outsmarting the opponent is key. To thrive, teammates must coordinate plans and execute them to be successful. Anyone who has ever been on a team knows: the bonding that comes from working as a team makes victory even sweeter. Plus, who doesn’t like killing opponents in different and exciting ways?
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There are no available servers and no player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
This PvP arena "brawler" revolved around punting a big spikey ball around kinda ugly looking arenas. It never caught on, indeed, SteamDB shows this didn't even get enough players for a full match. That's a little weird, because I've seen hundreds of much worse PvP arena games with more players than this. Remarkable, but still, the price tag probably put people off. So, Brutal Ball is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appea…1 found this helpful
"Brutal Ball" is a chaotic and wild sports game where you’re trying to kick a ball… and maybe break some bones. People are loving the physics, but also yelling at their screens because the ball seems to have a mind of its own. It's simple, brutal, and just dumb fun. If you like random chaos, getting hit in the face by flying balls, and laughing at your own misery, this game might be your new best friend. Definitely not a sport for the faint of heart!
