✦ AI summary
Players appreciate the game's creative visual design and clever atmospheric moments, particularly praising the opening sequence and horror imagery, though opinions split on whether these elements create a cohesive experience. The primary complaint is that the game is very short—typically completed in 8-10 minutes—and some feel the horror elements are scattered without adding up to meaningful gameplay or narrative, though others find the brief runtime acceptable for a free title.
(Buried Tapes) THE PARKING
Buried tapes is so far a two-part short horror series presented in that granular VHS format from the protagonist’s perspective. The found footage in this one gives us the time stamp of Jun 4 1994, which makes this game a two-year prequel to the other game ‘The Cleaner’ which was released one month earlier. According to Steam store description, you play the role of 23-year-old Monica Jones who needs to find her car keys and escape an underground carpark. Problem is we have several enemies that we need to avoid. One of them is an unsavory creep of a man and the second is an automobile that is somewhat fashioned to look like ‘The Cars that Ate Paris’. Successfully fleeing the pursuit will reveal a flashback of a car crash 4 days prior, which resulted with one fatality, with the owner of the car missing and being identified as Monica Jones who resides at 356 Terrence Spurs. The investigating officer at the scene is then attacked by another mysterious woman. I have so many questions as none of this makes any sense. 1. Who is the dead body on the road? Monica the car owner is said to be missing so it can’t be her. She is also looking for her car …2 found this helpful

Boring. The car chase part seems especially drawn out.
OH, GOD, NO! .. NO, IT'S THE SAME... The car is a monster!(What?)
Suspenseful, retro-horror, completely free.
3/10 Fine aesthetics but nothing really connects. It's one of those games where there's just a bunch of random horror elements and nothing really adds up to much. The other Buried Tapes game is a lot better, in my opinion.
