Buried (2022)

"Buried" is a genuinely, but really badly made 2D side scrolling adventure game, thematically a ripoff of Alien: Isolation but the quality is so laughably bad that it's almost a violation of the Geneva Conventions. What do you do in the game? You have to crouch to hide and avoid the alien, but the developer screwed up and this doesn't actually work, resulting in a game that's nigh on uncompletable,not that anyone would want to try. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. The graphics aren't great, really laughably low quality assets, but that tells us at least one thing. This can't be an asset flip because the assets are so bad no self respecting asset creator would publish them. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Ga…

Absolute terrible game. They tell you to hold your breath and crouch and you do exactly that, yet every time the alien still kills you. Think this is more of a rage bait game than anything else, and most of all a waste of time. Do not bother.

What on the Sweet Mother of Mercy is this? There are only three mechanics in the game. Crouch, hold your breath and hide. You would think it would be fairly self-explanatory on how to hide from an enemy. Not so, you can hide and hold your breath, the critter will just rush to your hiding spot and kill you. if there is someway to avoid the alien, then I'm not interested in sticking around long enough to find out. Avoid.

This game is called Buried and it needs to be buried in the reviews because it is garbage. Good luck avoiding the enemy.
