About Caffeine
Synopsis
Caffeine is a quirky first person adventure game with environmental puzzles and a touch of psychological horror.
Set in the near future, the entire population of Earth is vigorously addicted to coffee. Massive space stations built by the biggest corporations roam the stars mining minerals to create a synthetic caffeine.
You awaken aboard one of these caffeine mining stations alone. Before long you realize that you are a young boy with no memory of what has transpired on this seemingly empty space station.
Naturally you set out to explore the depths of the huge structure to figure out what exactly is going on.
Graphics
Caffeine utilities various technologies like DirectX 12, Ray traced distance field shadowing and dynamic lighting to give players a visually stunning game which looks great on low and ultra settings.
Audio
Caffeine features stunning sound design from Jonathan Wachoru (Outlast) and a serene music score by Adam Klingman of Bay Drive Sound.
Oculus Rift SupportOn release Caffeine will have full in-game Oculus Rift support by hitting alt+tab while in-game. The main menu and settings menus are currently displaying incorrectly while in stereo mode, this will be patched into the game later on in release week so we can iron out gameplay related issues first.

If you have a high end Nvidia Geforce RTX graphics card, this is actually a graphically nice game to play, graphics are the focus, the story (although still very significant) and the rest is secondary2 found this helpful
Text dump. Good graphics but not worth a play2 found this helpful

Caffeine is a first person adventure/walking sim with a comedy/science fiction premise as apparently people in the future are addicted to caffeine and it must be mined in space. That's of course not how any of this works. Anyway, while it looks okay thanks to the venerable Unreal engine, and there's even an array of graphics tweaks, the in game assets are somewhat clunky and low poly. Speaking of clunky... the gameplay is annoyingly unpolished and the camera sways around wildly and unintuitively... it seems little gameplay testing was done. This is only the first out of a series of 3 chapters... which were supposed to be released years ago. The developer is essentially trying to get paid a whopping $11 USD for a game that's knowingly incomplete and probably never will be. Seems a bit like a scam to me. Don't waste your money on incomplete, unpolished games. At least it's not abusing Early Access... but then, launching incomplete games outside of Early Access seems even worse.1 found this helpful
Pretty short adventure game with walking simulator style gameplay. It's a bit buggy at times, but at least it's easy to get all 11 achievements to get one more perfect game. It was supposed to get a sequel, but the devs cancelled it. Story-wise it's nothing special, some light horror elements since you're located on abandoned space station which is flooded by coffe, and puzzle elements of the game are really simple. Would I play again? No... but since I got the game in a bundle and let me get all achievements it was good for one playthrough.
