About Campfire: Night One

"Do monsters walk among us, or do they live within us?"

The Abanda wilderness never forgets. For centuries, the walls of Lockwood Castle have guarded a secret that locals only dare to whisper. They say the fortress was built to protect humanity from what dwells in the dark—but what if the line between safety and damnation blurred long ago? Sarah wakes up alone beneath the trees, where the silence carries weight and the shadows possess a will of their own. What began as a university rite of passage has become the dawn of an ancient truth. The darkness does not only hide within the thickets; it lingers in the abandoned walls, in betrayed trust, and in every beating heart.

In this night, death is not the greatest fear. It is the realization of who you should truly be afraid of.

Experience True Survival Horror Campfire: Night One is an immersive psychological horror game where every shadow hides a threat and every bullet counts. As you navigate the oppressive darkness of the Abanda wilderness, you must do more than just survive—you must find and rescue the one who matters most to you.

Key Features:

  • Tactical Survival: Use your flashlight wisely to navigate, but remember: light attracts what dwells in the dark.
  • Environmental Puzzles: Solve logical challenges and environmental puzzles within the abandoned walls of Lockwood Castle to uncover the truth.
  • Escort and Protect: You are not alone. Assist and guide your companion through the wilderness, ensuring their safety as you make your way toward sanctuary.
  • Stealth and Hiding: When the killer is nearby, fighting isn't always an option. Hide in restrooms or cabinets to evade a gruesome fate.
  • Atmospheric Terror: A deep, psychological experience where the line between reality and nightmare blurs.
  • Supernatural Creatures: Humans aren't the only thing you should fear! Within and outside the walls of Lockwood Castle, multiple creatures lurk in the dark, waiting for you.

An indie horror that doesn't treat the player like a fool! Campfire: Night One is a bold debut from Stormdevil Productions. The Unreal Engine 5 visuals pull you in instantly, and the atmosphere of the dark forest is truly suffocating. What I liked most is the "hardcore" approach: there's no hand-holding or over-the-top tutorials—you have to discover the path and the mechanics for yourself. Yes, it’s hardware-intensive (it's UE5, after all), and yes, you’ll sometimes have to fight to figure out how to progress, but that’s exactly what gives this horror its authentic flavor: the feeling of vulnerability and the necessity of paying attention. If you’re tired of cookie-cutter horror games and want something rawer, give this one a try. Visual depth like this is rare in the indie scene! Rating: 8/10 – Looking forward to the sequel!

The atmosphere in this game is fantastic — the devs absolutely nailed the mood, and that's not easy to pull off. There's a refreshing lack of hand-holding; you have to figure things out on your own, which makes it feel genuinely immersive. The sound design is solid and used effectively for scares. The broken lights during chase sequences are a great mechanic that really gets your heart pumping.

This is a pure, old-school horror experience. Minimalist UI helps immensely with immersion, ensuring nothing breaks the dread. An unfiltered challenge for true horror fans.

Köszönjük a játékot!
