they banned me for asking about the game, weird.... anyways i refunded shortly after as they were mass banning everything, i guess they cant mass ban outside of steam and so i went on my youtube with 80k subs and reported this as word was already catching on elsewhere there was a need for ample warning as this game blows too.

I love turn-based games like this so I've stayed patient with it. The game could actually be enjoyable but it turns into a level-up grind and that just sucks all of the joy out of the game.

It is hard to find a tactical superhero game that meshes strategy with heroic teamwork. Capes is all of that an more. However, the story is not great - in fact it is so bland it is humorous. Yet what it lacks in story, the gameplay dynamic makes up for it. Heroes can help each other by making their powers better, leading to synergistic team-ups that make the battles truly gratifying when you complete them. Some of the missions were difficult and took me a couple of replays to achieve - sometimes the hero mix I chose did not work. The game is challenging and yet, enjoyable. I liked it and would happily support any future expansions with a purchase. Essentially, if you like superhero power sets and enjoy strategy games, I recommend it.

A great game that has a lot of replayability built in. I love that chance is a very minimal factor, your actions just do a thing and it does that same thing every time. So encounters can feel like puzzles that you're trying to solve. No blaming the dice on this one. Main critiques are that it doesn't explain some concepts the best, like "Heavy" trait on enemies, how different enemy weapons work, the more niche elements. There's also some UI quirks on controller, going between two branches of an ability's upgrades can feel weird. Also would love to see a counter of how many SP I've already spent on a Hero, since I like to balance my roster in power.

The core gameplay and levels are great. I understand some of the comments comparing it to XCOM and where it fall short, but in some ways you are trading the freedom of XCOM for a tighter and more curated gameplay experience. There are some really great ideas in here. If it's on sale, grab it.

Capes is a superhero-themed tactical strategy game developed by Spitfire Interactive and published by Daedalic Entertainment. Instead of telling another origin story about heroes rising to fame, the game begins in a world where evil has already achieved victory. Supervillains have ruled King City for decades, superheroes have been outlawed, and ordinary citizens have grown accustomed to living under oppressive control. This unusual starting point immediately separates Capes from many other comic book-inspired games, creating a darker and more desperate atmosphere where every act of heroism feels like an act of rebellion. The campaign follows a newly formed resistance movement determined to challenge the regime and restore hope to the city. Players gradually recruit heroes, build a capable team, and launch missions against increasingly powerful enemies. While the overall storyline follows a familiar struggle between good and evil, the setting itself adds enough personality to keep the narrative engaging. The city feels like a place that has spent years under villainous control, and the consequences of that rule can be seen throughout the campaign. Citizens live in fear, heroes oper…
