Cardboard Chronicles

"Cardboard Chronicles" is a quirky 3D adventure/action game with a "cardboard art" theme. Take on the role of a kid turned into a little cardboard cutout thing, fight some stuff, do some adventure stuff. It's okay, but not amazing. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low-ish poly count 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're designing games for. It's the responsibility of the developer to ensure the game runs well on the platform they're selling it on, with the primary peripherals that PC gamers use. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. A wholesome, almost Nintendo-like adventure game with easy achievements! There isn’t much to explain — you explore the world, talk to characters, complete simple tasks, and eventually fight the final boss. That’s the whole game. 7.5/10 – What a charming, approximately 20-minute-long experience! I highly recommend playing this game!

a ridiculously charming little game that had me smiling the whole way through

A short and cute adventure game about a small cardboard boy in a big cardboard world. The artstyle is the biggest plus and it stays charming during the entire playthrough.

Short and sweet. Incredibly impressed by this fun little play. Even more impressed to find out it was a student project. I hope the creators decide to expand upon this because the world and concept are fantastic.

In this game, you take on the role of a child as you embark on an adventure through Doodleburg. It’s a short, charming, and straightforward game that’s absolutely worth playing! The ability to pet dogs was a fantastic addition! I enjoyed petting each and everyone one. Completing all the achievements was easy and fun. I can't recommend this game enough!
