Carpet Cleaning Simulator

Scratches the cleaning itch nicely. It can feel a little grindy initially until you start maxing out the skill tree. Some more rug variations would be nice as well as some different dialogue for the meteor events. Pretty simple, but the price point reflects that.

I went into this expecting a traditional simulator and instead got an incremental game with busy work between rebirths. The game rebirths are timed, regardless if you make enough for rebirth to be meaningful, and while you can delay the rebirth, it gets annoying that the game keeps interrupting you to nudge you into rebirthing. The actual loop itself is very short to reach the "end" and the end, while kinda cute, just doesn't make sense. The whole "meteor about to hit the earth" thing kinda just felt like a lazy excuse to stop people finishing the game upgrades too quickly and refunding it. The dev DID add an endless mode post-launch, presumably because too many people said the game ending at the missile launch wasn't satisfying, but the endless mode isn't satisfying either. The biggest problem is that endless mode without the meteor stress is only unlocked AFTER the ending of the meteor when you've already effectively beaten the game and unlocked all the upgrades, so it's pointless to play further on that setting. The second big problem is that the endless mode boasts a "the dirt gets tougher the higher you go!" mechanic which forces you to rebirth in order to get the new incr…

It's okay, I guess. The controls don't feel great, the visuals aren't all that, and it's just not that fun. I'm not opposed to cleaning games. One of my favorite games ever is Powerwash Simulator. I bought this because it's similar in concept, but it just doesn't deliver what I'm looking for. 5/10

The need to collect "money" via the bubbles in a time-limited fashion, instead of it simply happening automatically, is terribly unfun and kills any other potential this game might have.

Good lil short game!

I 100% completed Carpet Cleaning Simulator in about 4 hours. Overall, it was alright. The achievements are very easy and nothing was really difficult, so if you're mainly going for 100% completion, it’s a very straightforward game. The biggest problem is definitely the performance and optimization. The game lists a GTX 1650, i7-11800H, and 8 GB RAM in its requirements, while I played it on an RTX 4070 12GB OC, Intel i5-13400F, and 32 GB RAM. With hardware like that, a game this simple and undemanding really shouldn't be hovering around 60 FPS and then feeling like it's dropping into the 40s. The performance feels much worse than it should for the visuals and complexity of the game, so optimization definitely needs improvement. Other than that, it was a simple and decent game to complete.
