Celente Immortal is one of a handful of low effort retro-pixel Pixel Game Maker MV asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker aligned Pixel Game Maker MV video game construction kit... in Kadokawa's own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker/Pixel Game Maker MV "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality assets (or canned assets from Pixel Game Maker) coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. As with all Pixel Game Maker MV games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of Pixel Game Maker MV is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development, as the "developer" has done here, with the unfortunate result of polluting Steam with garbage. Like most RPG Maker/Pixel Game Maker MV shovelware and construction kit flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay.…

This game surprised me. Wasn't sure what to expect with the $4 price tag. But I definitely got my money's worth. The heavy emphasis on stamina management and kiting during combat make for a good challenge. Have to fully understand enemy attack patterns and the timing/reach of your basic attack or skills to be able to dish out damage and avoid it. The story was quite humorous. And it was neat to be able to recruit party members that provided you with a combat skill and a utility skill. Like lockpicking chests, talking with animals, etc... Could definitely use some quality of life improvements like skipping dialogue sequences, more tutorial sign posts, and retry encounter. But I'm still looking forward to next episode/part that will be releasing for the game. As for the target audience of this game, this is not for the faint of heart. My description of the combat basically put's it in the territory of Souls-likes. So for people who like those games they'll feel right at home with the challenge this game provides. I spent 3.5 hours alone on the final boss for this part of the game.
