Game is all good and nice, but I had few problem. -FPS issues -Bugs such as --selecting inventory that didn't let me in --drowning bar is still on when I got out of the water the main problem is the FPS, you just play the game for a good 20 minutes, BOOM huge lag, huge fps drop. impossible to play it. Would love to continue but a little bit upgrade and fix would be helpful.10 found this helpful
This game makes you remember what old school JRPGs used to be, Hard and sometimes frustrating but once you manage to go forward past these parts you really feel like you have accomplished a quest in real life ;D .. the battle System is based on Xenogears for the combos and Suikoden for the MP system, two of the best BS ever created in one :D .. the story is very interesting besides an initial feeling of being rushed in a world setting that isn't explained enough, this first part is a prologue and I managed to finish it taking my time in almost 8 hours but the game as it is should be beatable under 6 hours, but the devs took their time in creating complex areas and dungeons that are WORTH to be explored to find rare items and gears so you should do so. Another thing I liked is the fact that the choices that you do will have an impact on the future chapters, creating rivals or changing the monsters that populate an area... a nice touch by the devs was also putting some optional bosses that is not possible to beat right now besides the fact that you can actually challenge them... it makes you understand that it will be worth revisiting some areas and so some backtracking ... I hope t…8 found this helpful
Despite my frustrations I did still enjoy what has been released of Celestial Tear: Demon’s Revenge so far. The plot has intrigued me to the point that I am interested to see where they take the narrative in the next installments. The idea of one group of people branding another as evil just for being “different” resonates in me and I’d love to see Sen and Jagen meet each other, to see their reactions, and maybe form a bond despite them being an “enemy” to each other. If there’s one thing that I really hated about my experience is that I couldn’t watch the cutscenes. It could be my system but they ran so choppily that I couldn’t understand what was going on. At least the rest of the game played smoothly enough to enjoy my playthrough. http://cliqist.com/2015/12/04/celestial-tear-demons-revenge-short-rpg-interesting-twist/7 found this helpful
In spite of its solid art, interesting story, and music that's decent, the technical and balance issues in the current version of the game are simply too glaring. Fou-Lu's review goes into the balance issues in sufficient detail so I won't repeat those here. As Fjorn's review indicated, the FPS problem is absolutely atrocious - it's truly the #1 game breaker. In the final sequence of battles at the end of what content is availble as of 2018/02/21, the FPS plummeted before I could finish the last fight. As a result, it took something like 45 minutes to finish a fight that should have been done in 5 simply because I had to wait for the characters to sloooooowly "run" across the screen and then slooooowly make their attacks. Even selecting from the menu becomes tediously slow. I ended up doing: "fight a couple enemies, walk back to nearest save point, save, and immediately reboot" and then "finally find a new save point, save, and immediately reboot". I was rebooting the game every 5-10 minutes just to workaround the FPS issue. Oh, the text is chopped-short in several journal entries meaning that there's less story content available than there should be. Now, according to the…4 found this helpful
http://mousenjoypad.com/reviews/pc/celestial-tear-demons-revenge-review/ - Full Review Celestial Tear: Demon’s Revenge is a fantastic JRPG that’s marred down by technical problems. Built on the RPG Maker engine, the game has so many limitations, hardly any customization, and crashes too often to ignore. If you’re willing to wade through it though, and you should, the game offers an engaging and yet familiar storyline, a nice blend of battle systems and some stellar ideas. I felt like I had discovered a lost gem from the fourth generation, and I enjoyed all of the moments that worked. It’s clear that there’s some real passion behind this project, but the technical know-how may not be as strong as their creative drive. Hopefully they’ll get this all ironed out, and possibly consider a more modern engine and a VO director for their next outing.4 found this helpful
A Brilliant RPG maker game BUT! Extremly buggy, with Frame rate lag that simply makes the game unplayable. If you could save in the field and load the game it would be something you could tolerate but since you need to find save points and the bug can happen just about anywhere and randomly it kills the game..... which is very sad, it is well written, with an awesome combat system reminding me of the Xenogears from PSone and a mana system similar to Suikoden, which is in short a brilliant combo..... it is sad to see a well written story getting killed by bugs... so sad... so sad. If you are perhaps one of the people that can suffer through the frame rate lag or someone that knows how to edit or use speed up hacks you might be able to work around the bugs, and then you might actually enjoy the title. Why the developers simply didnt make it possible to save/load where ever to work around the frame rate bug is beyond me. oh well, regardless do not buy it unless you can work around the problem, if you can then you can do far worse than this game.3 found this helpful
