Chariots of War

Partially I played it because of nostalgia, BUT this game has it's merits. It's easy to get into, turns can be pretty quick, doesn't suffer as much from turns becoming a long chore in late game as many turn-based strategies do, a pretty chill and fun game. Battles are fought automatically, you just set up your troops before. You can choose to start a short campaign on a smaller map or a much bigger one for a longer game. That said, I'm not sure how balanced I would consider this game, I actually think some troops are useless, but perhaps I didn't understand how to use them. For some mechanics (like which terrain counts as rough or what exactly happiness does) you should read the manual. But it is not exactly necessary to play if you want to just jump into the game and the manual is easy to read. Old games tend to rely on manuals for explaining details of the game, after all. I play it when I want a simple strategy game where I don't need to pay attention to a lot of things at once and plan ahead too much.

Of all the games designed to emulate the Biblical wars for supremacy of the Ancient World, this is the least complicated and yet the hardest to master because it makes that time historically accurate without interference from the demands for modern AI to satisfy some political group or other. I recommend buying the entire package when on sale as there are millennia of human interaction across the four games with many differences that separate not just the eras but the cultures extant therein. May your God keep the sword in your hand to your last breath.

This remains one of the best and most replayable strategy games ever. Easy to play but hard to master. I only wish that there were some new maps or some way to mod the game. I have played it countless hours.

This game is Baby's first Grand Strategy there's not a ton of depth. However its simplicity is 100% why I love it. If someone wants to learn how to play Grand Strategies this is a great starting point

The troops are not moving as explained by Arkan...... I also purchased the game...

A game from my childhood however I can't recommend it to those who never played it since it's really outdated by modern standards by games like Imperator Rome or Total War titles and 15 euros for such an old and outdated game is too much. However it can be a relaxing experience and an immersion in the past if you've already experienced it or you're interested in bronze age history and civilizations.
