In this game, there is no health bar. If one chess piece hits you it's game over!

Crazy idea but it works, the gameplay is very solid and fast and graphics and ui are sleek. I’ve always been interested in chess but it feels so intimidating, Checkmate Kings is able to capture the game’s aesthetic but without needing a phd to have a blast. Grab a friend and you’ve got lots of hours of fun! I’ve been playing with my friends nonstop since we bought it, and we just can’t stop.2 found this helpful

Super fun game to play with a friend! Once you master a little bit the main mechanics, it becomes very satisfying! And I love the art of the main characters! :D1 found this helpful
this game has really awful multiplayer controller issues. When trying to play offline couch play between two people, for some reason it will register both player 1 and player 2 as just... player 1. I can't play against another person at all, and we tried changing controllers, going into options, and restarting the game. Strongly don't recommend this game if you're looking for a local multiplayer experience.
