A fun puzzle game with lots of twists and witty comments. Loving it!2 found this helpful
I created a new Steam account to play this game, and it was very worth it. The way I described it to someone is that it's easy enough that you know you will be able to find the solution, and simultaneously it is hard enough that it will require some thinking but once you get it - it's extremely rewarding. Right before you run the correct layout, it's like you see a "light" at the end of the tunnel and everything makes sense - and then the dopamine hits and is amazing. Although sometimes you may think you got it and you you missed a movement that screws entire trajectory, which keeps you on your toes! I'm also very much into AI and have created an agent using GPT-5.5 and tested it against the game! It not only beat the game, but beat 2 public monthly challenge solutions - https://chipwits.com/hall-of-pie/. The community on Discord has also been very welcoming! They even gave me access to an MCP Server so my agent could play the game! 10/10 would recommend!1 found this helpful
ChipWits is the fresh new face of the Eighties logic/programming classic. Place tiles on the program grid to drive your robot around and complete a variety of challenges: gather goodies, avoid baddies, move items, solve puzzles. Hone your programming skills by looping, forking, making decisions, and acting on the objects around you, then optimize your solution to make it as efficient as possible. Comprehensive tutorials make learning the game easy. Once you've learned the basics, the game includes all the puzzles from the original and new challenges are being added regularly. Development is ongoing and active, meaning new features are being added all the time. Dev is also engaged and open to advice and suggestions. A fun, engaging programming game. Highly recommended.1 found this helpful
Chipwits combines fun, mental challenges and a bit of nostalgia wrapped up in a package that combines elements of programming, puzzle-solving and adventure, creating an experience that is both entertaining and stimulating. I found the series of training levels excellent to get you started. These guide you through the mechanics and strategies of the game with ease. These initial game levels provides bite-sized lessons that are both informative and fun. Puzzles become increasingly difficult and will ensure that you continue to be challenged throughout the game. Each level poses unique challenges that require creative thinking and planning. It is an excellent choice for those looking to sharpen their mental agility while having a good time. It’s the perfect combination of fun and brain training, making you feel accomplished with every completed challenge. If you thrive on competition, Chipwits provides a comprehensive leader board so that you can measure your performance against others. It also offers frequent challenge games that keep the excitement flowing. These time-limited events test your skills and push you to think outside the box. This game provides a fun series of challenging puzzles that appeal to novice learners as well as experienced computer scientists. The game invites experimentation and exploration though semi-randomized levels to test your ability to find novel solutions, not just memorize patterns. For the retro computing enthusiasts, this is faithful to the original 80's game complete with the original levels -- but it goes further giving your robot newer capabilities and puzzles, not to mention a modern interface that is even easier to use than the point-and-click original! Between the gradual ramp-up difficulty curve that invites learning without leaving the user feeling punished, as well as the active discord community behind it, I highly recommend this game!1 found this helpful
ChipWits is a fantastic revival of an 80's programming puzzle classic that improves upon the original in most every way. Fans of the original will be pleased to know that the classic content has been faithfully recreated both stylistically and mechanically, and the new content introduces brand new kinds of challenges that are fun for both beginners and seasoned players alike. Whether you grew up with the classic ChipWits or have no idea what an if-else statement is, you'll have a terrific time wiring wits for wonderfully wacky rollerskating robots.
