This is a great programming game. It gets exceptionally hard on further chapters, to the point where many programming beginners will feel lost, but it has a great concept, funny lore and a mysterious, intriguing subplot. Definitely worth a shot if you're a Zachtronics fan.

Absolutely incredible programming puzzle game! Evokes the best parts of the Zachlikes while being something wholly original. I really enjoyed learning and using the language and debug tools. The story and characters were... meh, I'll be honest I skipped past most of it because the gameplay was so dang good that I just wanted the next puzzle. If you enjoy programming puzzle games even a little bit you owe it to yourself to play this game!

Game 165 of my backlog Definitely one of the more challenging programming puzzle games. I enjoyed about half of it. The explanations for most of the puzzles is not great. The coding is also very limited. This requires you to really think but also limits the game a bit as far as programming dummies go (like myself). I love the Zachtronics games and have made it through most of those without issue. This one is just out of my league though

I had big hopes for this game, it looked like an easier, zacklike, close to EXAPUNKS. There is a great game in Marvellous but it's jumbled up. The inconsistent, extremely swingy learning curve makes it difficult for to gradually increase coding skills. You are given puzzles that are level 1, 2, then boss level, level 1 then bigger boss level--so random. The game is also conflicted in trying to be beginner friendly, navigate your robot through mazes AND also complex zacklike coding problems. In EXAPUNKS, you navigate your bot by inputting the exit name and can interface with any equipment in the same room. In Marvellous, you have to guide each step, facing to be next to interface with equipment. Lastly syntax for the registers (variables) is awkward and hard to remember, making me look it up repeatedly. If you know how to code and you are pretty good at zacklike games, Marvellous will be fun, tedious, but still enjoyable. However if you are new to coding, the wonky difficulty curve will make this game unnecessary hard.
