About Chop It
Chop It is a VR rhythm game about karate and friendship.
Chop the boards. Punch the cinder blocks. Use that body to get into the rhythm and karate everything into smithereens.
Turn quick. Gaze in awe as the Sensei launches himself around the Pagoda raining building materials on your head.
Included are 8 playable songs custom written for Chop It by Strange Handle AV. Import your own content and map songs manually, procedurally, or a mix of the two in the VR Mapping Station. One of the things that makes Chop It unique from other VR rhythm games is the use of true roomscale where the Sensei jumps and flies around the environment while throwing items at you that land to the beat.

I have a few problems with the gameplay: - you have to keep looking up, which hurts after a short while. I would prefer it if the master would stand lower so that the planks and blocks don't follow such a high path - the "campaign" consists of multiple chapters, but you can immediatly chose any of them. It would be more fun to unlock a level when you reach a certain goal (e.g. number of points of the previous chapter). There is one thing that is both a pro and con: I didn't have to "chop" anything, just moving my arms in the right direction was enough. The bad thing, is that it isn't realy challanging. The good thing, its a relaxing way to get to a minimum amount of movement. Overal: it could be a fun game to play once in a while, but I won't play it again as long as you have to keep looking upwards.2 found this helpful
Very fun game. Especially compared to other rhythm games that are 2x or 3x price. I have tons of games that I've put dozens of hours into and never reviewed or gave a thumbs down. I'm recommending this game with less than 30 minutes of play time. That says something about Chop it! I'm actually ashamed that I haven't played it more. It's got everything that gamers want. 1) Simple to learn but skill based mechanics. 2) Cool aesthetics. 3) Developer that listens to feedback. 4) Auto generated beatmaps and a built in beat editor unlike other VR rhythm games. 5) Cheap price. 6) Funny developer. 7)) No ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Youtube personality promoters.1 found this helpful
Got this for free on reddit awhile back. It's ok, but beatsaber is clearly leagues ahead for 10$ more. Ended up uninstalling
5/10 Game is missing it`s style and "Gold plating" on top of algorithms. it`s comparable to plain wood chop-sticks, has no attractiveness for VR. As a budget alternative to a movement VR game it does great, although for 2021+ worth buying something better.
Great fun. It's super satisfying chopping stuff and breaking bricks with your fists! This is a great workout and lots of fun to play. I like it!
Pretty good game! Limited song selection, but the built in level editor and being able to import songs makes up for that. Fun, simple, and easy to get into.
