✦ AI summary

Players agree this is an abandoned, unfinished early-access title with underdeveloped core mechanics—the time-slow feature feels gimmicky without headshot rewards, weapons lack meaningful differentiation, and visual presentation is dated and poorly optimized. While the basic wave-survival loop can provide brief entertainment for some, the severely limited content, lack of progression incentives, and five-year development stall make it difficult to recommend as anything more than a curiosity for zombie shooter enthusiasts willing to overlook significant rough edges.

Played for about 10 minutes and what I saw didn't make me want to play any longer. First off, it's unfinished considering 2/5 of the main menu options are grayed out... zombies and a training map are playable, while multiplayer/sandbox/campaign grayed out. Looking at the discussions development stopped in 2019. There's a time slow down button you can press, which works similar to Killing Floor's zed time. It could've been an interesting mechanic, however it's completely pointless considering you're not rewarded for head shots. The few weapons I saw (pistol, rifle, and shotgun) all felt the same - at least in the damage they output. You can also only carry 1 gun - would've been nice to at least be able to have a primary and keep your pistol. The number of zombies per wave increases very slowly. It leads to a pretty slow game loop since everything costs the same at $1250. Furthering that is the fact a large portion of the doors don't unlock new areas but small side rooms with items. There are several smaller issues too, and it's surprising they weren't caught. For instance, the zombie counter is always off by 1. There were some classic COD Zombies features such as a mystery box, p…

Combat Force, developed by Matt Sowards and published by My Way Games, is a grassroots first-person shooter that leans heavily into classic zombie survival concepts while reflecting the realities of a small-scale indie production. It presents itself without much pretense: a straightforward, wave-based shooter where the primary goal is endurance. Rather than attempting to compete with large-budget FPS titles, it focuses on delivering a functional and accessible gameplay loop that captures the essence of surviving against overwhelming odds. The core experience revolves around holding out against successive waves of zombies, a formula that will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has spent time with survival modes in other shooters. Players are placed into contained environments where they must scavenge weapons, manage resources, and maintain situational awareness as enemy numbers steadily increase. The inclusion of a day-and-night cycle adds a modest layer of variation, subtly changing the atmosphere and visibility while reinforcing the tension of nighttime encounters. Although this feature doesn’t fundamentally alter gameplay mechanics, it helps break up the visual monotony and g…

Ngl, I laughed at the Goku looking logo at the start of the game, that's for sure the highlight. But the rest of the game... Do I need to tell you that's bad? No gamma setting, you have to lower the graphic settings to see something, but when it doesn't look dark and muddy, it looks PS2-y and ugly. Also, WHAT KIND OF REGULAR ZOMBIE TAKES 7 HEADSHOTS?! I won't complain that's unrealistic, cause they're zombies, but still, 7 headshots per mob... Thank you for the 100% one achievement.
