COMBAT INSTINCT

HTC VIVE review. To the point: This is a brawler VR game. That means you will be swinging your arms a lot. Mainly throwing punches and doing a few special moves here and there depending on your abilities. It is very physical and quite a work out when doing it for long periods. From what I played the game is fun. The layout of the level was kind of, well, repetative but that is not the highlight of the game. The fighting is. The mobs get harder as one would expect the farther you go in the game. There is a story but it is a little hard to follow as the game is not natively made for English audiences but you get an idea of what you are striving for. You can read and hear the story. There are abilities to get and upgrade after collecting some things. The fighting rather than story interested me most. It does take some time to get used to the fighting and the use of your movement to use to your advantage but as you go it grows on you. For the price of the game I think it can be fun for those looking to get into some real fist fighting in VR. The graphics are good, models well done, and the game ran smooth on my setup. Was contacted by one of the guys at Prism Interactive, advising me that Combat Instinct was a game they were in the process of developing and looking for some people to try it out. What I can say about this game for the short time I've played it, is that it doesn't try to mimic other wave by wave shooters and is pretty unique (in comparison to other vive games I've played so far). In terms of suggestions, my recommendations are potentially integrating some save system. As a beginner, I found myself ending up back at the start of the game after constantly dying. Other than this, I would definiately recommend this game to somebody looking for a good workout!

I received this game from a developer, looking for a review. That said, I'm going to review this honestly and hopefully showcase what's currently in the game--perhaps contribute to a better future for the game as well. COMBAT INSTINCT is a VR fighter-type game which allows you to do different moves depending on the gesture that you swing your controlers in--and use such moves to defeat hordes of enemies. Pros: -The graphics in this are not bad for a game in VR. The characters have good textures and nothing is really ugly close-up. -The idea of the game is interesting, since VR brawler-type games are no-less a neat concept that could go far if done correctly. Cons: -Gesture recognition often doesn't work as intended. I'll try to do an uppercut move, only for a jab to register. It doesn't help that the way to do certain moves is only lightly touched upon, and not entirely and fully explained--albeit only a minor bit of the issue. -Oversaturation in visuals. There are too many things going on in front of you for the eye to base what it's seeing on. Combat Instinct is the greatest fighting game of all time. You go through multiple and different enemies that challenge you with different abilities. You'll have to run around to diffgerent places to complete missions. This was the best game I have ever played of fighting in VR. Combat Instinct is also a single player game, so if you want some time alone, Combat Instinct will sure get you attached and you wont want to put that headset down. This game got me sweating in no time, how epic this game is really impresses me.
