CONERU -DIMENSION GIRL-

I’m usually not a fan of side-scrolling platformers, especially action games. I bought this game only because Kohara Konomi voices the protagonist. What I liked the most is the freedom in playstyle. The game lets you approach bosses in different ways: you can explore maps to collect power-ups, or rely more on improving your control skills. It doesn’t force you to train for hours in only one way. The action feels stylish and refreshing, and the overall atmosphere is fun, with charming characters.

This game is really easy but that's the point; it's meant to be a fun and lighthearted romp where you just bulldose your enemies with an increasingly ridiculous array of overpowered abilities; you start out with kicking ricocheting emoticons at people but then you get the ability to smite foes with lightning or drop literal moons on them like Majora. If you eat enough donuts, you get Runrun, a [u]Mario[/u] Super Star power up that temporarily makes you invincible and kill every enemy you touch but also lets you jump six million feet in the air. The game's ridiculous escalation of power almost feels like a roguelike. I think the game's biggest flaw is that the level design doesn't play to the gameplay's strengths. The gamefeel encourages bulldozing through a straight line but the levels keep asking you to explore to find manga for new attacks and lightning rods for stat boosts. What's more, levels routinely are covered in chunks of blocks that are completely optional to progression and can only be broken through with Runrun, which one would rather keep for the journey ahead. Extremely cute and soulful game, but *very* basic. It's a very simple platformer with very simple controls, though you do unlock more abilities and such as you progress. Honestly, it feels like a "VideoGame.exe". I think it's best enjoyed as an "Action Date" experience with Coneru, which *is* one of the selling points of the game. None of the abilities you unlock in the game are meant to matter much and it's a very casual platformer overall. This is reinforced by the beams (secondary attack) changing according to Coneru's will and just being a thing completely out of your control. The game does have you replay through every stage two times, but I don't think that's as bad as it sounds because the stages do change completely every time, just the tilesets and themes (objectives) stay the same. It's also pretty short in general anyway, but paired with the simplistic gameplay, it may be too underwhelming for some. I don't think you can genuinely game over before the final boss. The game *does* stop pulling its punches during the final boss and the true final boss, and I think it gets pretty fun then (couldn't pay me to do these guys hitless, though). Great Music by Chroma!!!!! Simple but rly enjoyable gameply except just the Final Boss is kinda hard(ig its because I'm lazy to collect XD)

Coneru-chan is kawaii, donuts are oishii, kamehame beam is overpowered as hell and gives you superarmor during its animation. Game is well done, platforming mechanics feel great, the random weapons and beams give you a lot of fun variation. Only thing that is unclear is PC keyboard controls which are only viewable in an update post on steam. Also +1 to Metro Mew and all her soundtrack references in game!
