This game actually is pretty fun. You play a time traveller who is in ancient china just to discover you are the reason history made the country flourish. It´s a nice FMV with a TV Series budget historical Play in First Person view. Characters are pretty good chosen. Acting is great and gets cheesy where it actually works best that way. There´s also lots of humor. As you already expected: The game´s language is Chinese. And it´s chinese by default. But you can change to an english mode, with subtitles in the options. The subtitle translation is easy to follow. But you need to be a fast reader. Also in some cutscenes the timing is terribly wrong. If the developer reworks this two good hints how to do it right: Don´t use three short lines in subs. That´s too short to read sometimes. Better pick one long line with more text. And additional. Check again if the timing is okay. But anyway. I was able to follow the context full. The translation is localised which means you don´t get confuded too much by chinese phrases and idioms that don´t make much sense in other languages. Yeah. The story is not so extra, but I was curious, so I continued it. But in the end, I'm not going to complete it anyway. The English subs are a mess—half the time they're missing, and when they show up, the timing is usually bad. Easily the biggest issue here, bacause it is hard to follow the story. Furthermore my "sons" (the generals) are very annoying. Interesting exploit though: you can grab all choices' resources. If Choice A gives 10k soldiers and B gives 20k, you pick A, rewind, pick B, and keep both for 30k total.

Hard to recommend this one cause it has REALLY GOOD HIGHS- but you have to go through A LOT of lows to get to the worthwhile parts. The characters only get really interesting halfway through. And if you're playing on English subs, timing gets broken in around 15% of what I played. I feel like there are other games more worth your time, but if you don't mind the lows, this game has parts that I found very memorable.

If you like FMV then i think this game is good and very entertaining but i do have some small gripes with the game. The first small issue i have is the beginning because there really isn't any real set up to the story, your kind of just thrown into it but this issue in my opinion is easily overlooked if you just pay attention. Some translations are kind of bad and you can't see certain choices fully because of the translation conversion. The biggest issue for me personally is that there are times when the subtitles don't sync up to the characters talking which is very annoying especially if your trying to understand what the hell is going on and then there are scenes where the subtitles just don't show up at all and your just left wondering what they were even talking about so unless you know or understand mandarin during these scenes your gonna miss out on certain details. Despite this the game and story still kept me engaged enough to play but for those that are less tolerant this will be very annoying, and in my opinion developers should definitely fix the syncing subtitle problem with the game and the no subtitles for certain scenes but I honestly don't see that happening. Come for the war, stay for the surprisingly solid humor. This game knows how to balance carnage with a good laugh.
