Late Shift

Late Shift was my first experience with an FMV game, and I ended up doing something I almost never do—I played through the entire thing in one sitting. Then, instead of calling it a night, I immediately started over and played it again into the early hours, making different decisions just to see where the story would take me. I think that alone says more than any score I could give it. At roughly two hours long, there was no traditional gameplay to speak of. No quick-time events, no puzzles, no combat—it was simply an interactive movie where my choices shaped the narrative. Rather than feeling like a limitation, it worked entirely in the game's favour. I wasn't distracted by mechanics; I was completely immersed in the story, constantly wondering whether I'd made the right decision. The atmosphere hooked me almost immediately. A crime thriller set in London at night is already a winning combination for me, but it was elevated by a cast of genuinely believable actors whose British accents and vernacular made me fall in love. Right from the start, the vibe signals something special. Even the title feels right. I got caught off guard by the first choice. The story is fast-paced, it gets you hooked, makes you wonder what is going to happen next. I noticed that some of the small choices early on affect later major outcomes. This is something that many choices-matter games fail to do. The cast and acting were surprisingly high-quality. In some scenes, the inner voice of our protagonist speaks, handled really effectively. The overall flow is so structured and seamless that small weaknesses don't bother at all. You can play 2 runs in a row and it won't be boring, the length is just fine. Be aware, you cannot skip scenes in this movie, even when you replay it, so achievements are going to take some time. It took me 6+ hours to get them all and watch every ending. The variety of endings genuinely surprised me — very well done. One con to mention is that sometimes some scenes would get cut right before the dialogue ends. One of the best FMV games I've played. it really gets you moving and immerses you into its world. I would absolutely recommend this game to everyone, and even for it's full price it's a steal.

This was pretty good imo. The acting is on par and it looks a feels like movie. I liked it enough that I played through it more than once and purchased some others by the same studio.

Really really good. A little bit short but they don't waste time. You play a parking valet who gets kidnapped and forced to participate in a heist. Everyone is really good in their roles, main actors Joe Sowerbutts and Haruka Abe were very believable. Found the Chinese gangsters a bit stereotypical, but it was a very thrilling movie to go through. Worth a purchase. I'm a big fan of choose your own adventure games like this and since Supermassive Games seems incapable to make something good these days i'm glad Wales Interactive is dropping good releases in the genre.
