About Contraband Police
You're a border guard in a militaristic 1981 checkpoint where you must scrutinize documents, detect smuggling, engage in shootouts, and chase down fugitives while managing your station's upgrades and resources. The game combines document-scanning puzzle gameplay with action sequences and moral choices that shape the fate of your war-torn nation.
The year is 1981, and as a young officer trainee, you are assigned to work at a border post in the mountainous region of Karikatka. Entry into the Acarist People's Republic is strictly regulated by the party and your every move is monitored! The situation at the border escalates when your comrade is killed during one of the interventions...
Document control Every visitor must have a set of valid documents. Even the slightest discrepancy means refusal of entry. Over time, the number of documents will increase and errors will be more difficult to detect.
Smuggling detection
Our intelligence regularly provides information about suspicious drivers. Search their vehicles using a UV flashlight and then use the appropriate tools to extract the smuggled goods. No amount of contraband should cross the border!
Shootouts
In some situations you will be forced to use firearms. Your station is a constant target for Oberankov's gang attacks, and every away mission carries the risk of a clash with the enemy.
Police chases
Desperate smugglers may attempt to escape from the control zone. It is your duty to stop and arrest them! Buy and upgrade police cars to improve the effectiveness of your pursuit.
Post management
Upgrade your police station to increase its defenses and improve subsequent inspections. However, keep in mind the rising cost of maintaining your station. Successful inspections, foiled smuggling and successful interventions are a few ways to earn cash.
Special assignments
Always be ready to intervene in an emergency. Solve crime puzzles, support your comrades and thwart the Blood Fist rebels. Make decisions that will determine the future of Acaristan.

When I first picked up Contraband Police, I thought I knew what I was in for. I expected a fairly straightforward, Papers, Please-inspired loop of checking passports and cargo, just set in a 3D environment. I was ready to settle in for some tedious, but satisfying, border management. What I didn't expect was to be completely pulled into a gritty, suspenseful story about political intrigue, moral compromise, and survival in the fictional, communist nation of Acaristan in 1981. This game isn't just about stamps; it’s about navigating the impossible choices of a totalitarian regime. You step into the boots of a young officer cadet assigned to the Karatika border post. Right from the start, the atmosphere is heavy. The world is grey, foggy, and filled with tension. You're reporting to the formidable Commissioner Primor, a man who expects absolute obedience, and you can practically feel the eyes of the state watching your every move. The narrative hook is that you are on probation, and your very first days involve a brutal attack on the checkpoint. It immediately raises the stakes and forces you to realize this isn't just a desk job. The real magic of Contraband Police is in…
It's fun and entertaining.
Fun
Really fun game, gets repetitive after a while. Still worth the money

I feel like they tried to do too much I love the base game idea but I dislike all the other stuff it doesn't feel like a border guard game due to the many other aspects and challenges of the game, which I feel is also just makes it more repeat and repeat the same stuff just with a slight different mission. I would of probably liked this game more if the focus was purely just a border guard simulator with more details and challenges within the same area. I think the idea is there but has been over expanded too far and I also dislike the driving in the game it just feels off and a pain.
