About My Little Puppy

Bong-gu the Welsh Corgi was once an abandoned dog. Judging by his docked tail, someone had once cared for him, but for some reason, he became unwanted. As an 8-year-old senior dog with various illnesses, it was hard for him to find a new family. Trapped in a cage at an animal shelter, each day passed gloomily for Bong-gu. Then one day, a miracle happened. Bong-gu met a new family. The man who took Bong-gu had a somewhat scruffy appearance and seemed slightly awkward, but Bong-gu loved his scent. From that day on, Bong-gu lived out his remaining days just like any other dog would: playing tug-of-war, running around, eating, and sleeping. In the end, he crossed the rainbow bridge, having lived out a simple yet joyful life.Sniff sniff… this scent… One day in dog heaven, Bong-gu wakes from his nap to a very familiar scent. Sniff sniff… it's dad!. Though faint, surely it is dad's scent he has been waiting for. Jubilant, Bong-gu escapes dog heaven and embarks on a journey to meet his dad - a journey that may hold unexpected dangers. Just as his dad once found him by some miracle, it is now Bong-gu’s turn to find his dad. Will Bong-gu be able to see his dad again?

An adventure in a beautiful world filled with stories of dogs and people

Teetering on the border between life and death, a world outside of dog heaven feels both familiar and strange. Embark on an adventure through beautifully crafted landscapes including deserts, snowy mountains, and beaches. Experience diverse gameplay across adventure, action, racing genres. And remember, Bong-gu is a dog! Actions like sniffing, barking, running, and jumping come with limitations. To overcome his limitations and reunite with his dad, he must meet, give, and receive help from people and other dogs, each with unique stories to share. Unlike cats, there is only so much a dog can do alone!

In the end, this is a story for all of us

At the end of his journey, Bong-gu finally reunites with his dad. The journey is filled with joy and excitement, but also moments of hardship and sadness. Yet, the ending has always been written: those destined to meet again will find their way back together. My Little Puppy may be a story about a dog, but it is also a story of relationships, farewells, and reunions that speaks to us all. For those waiting to see their once-in-a-lifetime friend or family member again, or those preparing for an inevitable parting that may come, we hope this story brings warm comfort. One day, we will meet again.

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game as an emotionally powerful experience that deeply resonates with dog lovers, with many reporting they cried multiple times while playing and found the story genuinely moving despite its simple presentation. However, some critics feel the game relies too heavily on cute-factor and emotional manipulation, with clumsy wordless storytelling and unbreakable cutscenes that can disrupt pacing, making it appeal mainly to those who love dogs enough to overlook these design shortcomings.

Easily recommended to everyone, whether you're a pet lover or not. A game made by people with passion and care for their craft, a moving journey with a great message and beautiful story. Excellent in its simplicity and memorable, this is what games should be. Not just mindless content, disguised gambling, pointless grinding or soulless products, but impactful experiences that leave a lasting mark, one which you can remember fondly.

Never in my life have I ever played a game that has made me cry. This feels like a story book that was read to me as a kid and I found again years later. This is without a doubt one of the most wholesome things I have ever seen :')

This game is so much more than just cute dogs and beautiful settings, it might look really pretty and chill, but this game wrecked me emotionally, and I would do it again. This is a beautiful story, I recommend it.

FUN: ✔ FEELS: ✔ I wanna write something jaded about it "intentionally pulling at heart strings" but the reality is it felt sincere and wholesome. I was surprised to find some environments had a haunting, otherworldly feel, but mostly I was charmed by the variety of gameplay and simple sweetness of its storytetlling. I did indeed cry and that's okay.
“Bark!”
The game opens with a heavenly environment vaguely reminiscent of Spyro, beckoning me to take multiple screenshots--even if I at first thought the art direction seemed a bit garnish and disjointed. Soon however I found myself pleasantly surprised at how simply joyful it was to wander past lampposts clad in shades of evening pink listening to crickets in grass. Music and the shapes of an exaggerated landscape gave form to some special feelings as I wandered through a lonesome forest lit in warm evenglow or snowy peaks beneath northern lights. The storytelling (and its pacing!) were especially noteworthy. The game unfolds across a bunch of different little vignettes and scenes, almost like a television show. With a variety of miniganes and self references, all strung together with delightful interactive cutscen…

So, I loved this game, I did. It's cute and sweet, but, I went into it thinking it would be light-hearted... But it gets pretty emotionally heavy at some points. I don't want to spoil too much, just know you should be prepared to cry.

Wow what a game… ok first and foremost, for any parents reading this, I would actually rate this game as PG not the current G age rating, due to certain themes.
the warning about death, suicide, and euthanasia is actually real.
+++ Animations and graphics for the dogs are perfect. Really makes you feel like a dog +++ Environment design, sound design, pacing, themes, all of it is perfect +++ Huge amount of detail and effort put in to the story, even side characters + Controls are mostly good. I had this bug where I would have to let go of the direction stick and press forwards again every 5 minutes or so, which was mildly annoying. - Some of the puzzles, quick time events, and platforming jumps would be very difficult for a child. I can't see anyone under 10 maybe 13 finishing this game without adult assistance. Heck even as an adult some sections really annoyed me. I can't really review anything else without giving it away. It's definitely worth playing. If you're on the fence, consider this review your signal to go for it.
