✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's visual style and mechanics like bullet mode, but criticize its high difficulty, heavy reliance on randomness that punishes missed shots with level restarts, and numerous bugs including broken controller settings, menu navigation issues, and UI problems. The game is seen as a frustratingly difficult experience designed for hardcore players rather than casual fun, with most reviewers suggesting it's only worth considering at heavily discounted prices and noting that significant work is needed on controls, visuals, and overall polish before it justifies its standard

It looked like a lot of fun, but it's a lot harder than I thought, there's a lot of randomness involved into whether your shot is going to hit the target or not, and if you miss, you have to start the level again, I thought this would be more of an arcade game where fun comes first, but this game is targeted at people who don't mind trying a level a thousand times before getting it right, and who can handle the frustration. I believe when you can afford better weapons this might be less of an issue, to be fair. Apart from that, I liked the graphical style, the "bullet mode" is great, and the UI is minimal but good enough, though I was stuck in a loop where I couldn't exit the selection screen at one point. So I'm not recommending this game for people like me, but I'm not saying it's inherently a bad game.

Ok first things first, For the regular price of $11.99, NO I cannot recommend this game, for the on sale price of $2.99, I can BARELY recommend this game. The keyboard controls are finally fixed (thanks dev) but the controller settings are TERRIBLE, I'll be uploading a video breakdown of the control problems. I was pretty harsh on this game in my review, it was fun, but it's broken AND it needs a lot of work. Lower the price to 1.99 and I can recommend the game for what it is currently. If you EVER want to get $11.99 you'll have to do a lot of work. Fix the menus and ensure they work properly, Change the crazy red and blue light color scheme, it's headache inducing, it makes the game more difficult AND it doesn't look good. The AI needs it's pathing updated, they should actively avoid obstacles, such as chairs and tables, when making their way to the player, They also need the same kind of accuracy as the player, They literally don't miss unless you're moving AND they shoot through tiny door openings or walls constantly. When you're standing over a weapon to pickup, have something above the player showing which will be picked up, WHY can't I change my 4th weapon... WHY does th…

I'm not really sure if Contract Killers is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. Contract Killers is yet another of literally hundreds of amateur retro top-down shooter/brawlers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one at least has 3D/isometric style graphics, but an ugly colour palette that was presumably one of many deterrents that lead to the failure of this amateur project. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being…
