FAQ
- Run duration: one expedition takes near 1 hour, with ~20 minutes per each phase. Also progress is saved each ~1-3 minutes, the expedition can be postponed almost any time.
- Total playtime: 18 Galaxies with unique conditions and 6 difficulties (configured per galaxy). It will take at least 20 hours to beat all galaxies at one difficulty level. All progress can be reset after completing all galaxies (statistics is kept).
- Meta-progression / Boosters: researched items appear during run(Expedition). Researched items can be crafted before Expedition start. Permanent bonus Attribute point is obtained after completing Galaxy.
- Ship builds (gameplay styles): 3 archetypes can be defined for now: ranger-with-focus-on-weapons, ranger-with-focus-on-modules and melee-hyper-boost-rammer. And ship modification system is flexible enough to combine different styles.
- Randomness: it is possible to predefine ~50% of build before Expedition starts. Other 50% are choices done during Expedition.

Cosmo Rider is a roguelite arcade game with clever design and surprising strategic depth that keeps players engaged through varied level types and randomized conditions, though it struggles with clarity and accessibility issues. Players praise the addictive gameplay loop, great soundtrack, and satisfying progression system with ship upgrades and modifiers, but criticize the lack of tutorial, missing UI information like health displays, and confusing mechanics that aren't explained upfront. Some players also report physical discomfort from the camera movement and distortion effects.

This game has potential but there are various aspects that need to be addressed before I would recommend buying it. 4/10 (I will change this review in the future pending game development.) 1. It is sooooo rough at this stage 2. Any type of information on your ship such as health... Kind of important 3. Some type of upgrade system for your ship in between rounds 4. A reason for getting those little shiny things when you kill a baddy, what are those for? 5. Instructions.... That being said and at this stage in development, the game is fun, has a great feel, and I hope to play it more in the future. To the Dev team, please keep working on this, you have something that could be great.4 found this helpful
Fun! Having put a ton of hours into this, got 100% achievements and top of the hiscore table I figured it was time to update my review - which was already a good review but ngl I got sooo hooked on this thing! The game design, though a little opaque at first, is super clever. There's surprising depth and lots of that good feeling roguelite strategizing during your game. A playthrough runs for 3 "solar systems" and takes maybe an hour. Levels come in many different types: arenas, defend-the-base, gravity+caves race, lots more but also each has a set of randomized conditions like say collisions hit harder, or there are elite enemies hunting you, or falling meteors. There's some very cool and strange conditions and you can pick a system that suits you and even have some ways to tweak the conditions to cancel out some, at a cost. All this keeps it feeling fresh and new level after level as there's so many combinations. Fundamentally, it's gravity/physics-based twin-stick (plays just as well on controller or mouse+keys), with autofiring weapons and buttons to trigger various upgrade slots. Can get really hectic on later levels / higher difficulties but it's never one of those pin-po…1 found this helpful
Чекаю всіх цінителей цікавих аркад!1 found this helpful
Initial impression is extremely bad because the way the camera and view move and distort makes me physically uncomfortable while playing.
