CraftCraft: Fantasy Merchant Simulator proves that a game does not need dragons to slay or kingdoms to save in order to leave a lasting impression. Instead, it finds its identity in quieter moments: shaping metal into treasured keepsakes, listening to the concerns of customers, and watching a small fantasy town slowly open itself to you. Developed by Placeholder Gameworks and Pineapple Works and published by Placeholder Gameworks and Hawthorn Games, this narrative-driven merchant simulator takes a familiar concept and gives it a surprisingly heartfelt twist. Set in the harbor settlement of Windspell, players assume the role of a craftsperson attempting to establish a reputation among an eclectic community of residents. The game places a significant emphasis on player expression from the outset, allowing you to create a character that fits the whimsical setting, whether that means taking on feline features, adopting a moth-inspired appearance, or simply creating a unique fantasy persona. I got this game on sale last week and I have quickly become addicted, it's very cute and I love the freedom you have over the choices you make in the crafting options. I especially love the rhythmic mini game for forging. I have already recommended it to my friends and hope many more people find it.1 found this helpful
Interesting characters, voice acting is nice but the tasks feel like I am working. Sharpening blades is the most boring task by a landslide. Having a ton of tiny sticks everywhere as well was annoying. Moving stuff around was strange and was very hit and miss for what I was trying to accomplish in the moment. I had to look up a lot of guides of what I was doing wrong since they DO NOT inform you of how to just move things or use stuff in your shop. Ex. if you buy a bag of wires, you do nothing with them. You try to dump them onto your workshop but they only pop out when an order requires them. They don't tell you this, you just have them there and feel like you paid money for them and you can't use them for a long while. I took many breaks to complete this game. Doing a day or two's worth of commissions till I felt like I needed a break. I did afk for a bit in the forest area, I found the music in that zone really relaxing. The charms of the characters, requests and trying to mislead you on orders was enjoyable in some ways and frustrating in others. Romance in the game? I think I zoomed by it too fast to really do more than talk to two people in the tavern one time. Didn't go o…
