About Creatio Ex Nihilo: Aition
The universe was nothing but infinite emptiness before you were born of nothing. You were the God before gods were created. You put the stars in the sky and put time itself in motion. That was not enough. You were lonely, so you decided to create children in your image to keep you company. However, you soon realized that loneliness might not have been so bad after all.
Creatio Ex Nihilo: Aition is inspired by Greek mythology and takes you back to the very creation of the universe itself. You will experience an emotional story where each character has unique motivations and personalities, and you will fight battles with both existential and emotional stakes. You will play as the first being in existence. The God that created everything. And it is up to you to make sure that the life you created will not end up destroying themselves and everything you hold dear. The fate of the universe depends on your very actions.

-Quick Review- Oof. Creatio Nihilo Aition is everything I hate about RPG maker games. -Detailed breakdown review- Story: This is basically a "creation story" for some really ripped guy who's clearly related to a fan fiction written about the Thing and Hulk's love child whom marches around across abstract JPEG's and beats up default particle effects on a windows 95's screen saver. Gameplay: No really, I can't elaborate on that. You're a muscle-guy who walks across screens in a "puzzle" of sorts (my solution: Walk the longest direction possible), has random JRPG encounters and expects me to level grind to defeat the first boss I found. (I just figured out the system, I think the designer was counting on me getting lost and exploring a whole lot more, but I think I just found the last boss within the thirty minutes of the game, I leveled up a few times to see if I could beat him, but then concluded "eh, no one's trying in this game, so I don't wanna try either.) Conclusion: My apologies to the developer for not having very nice things to say about Creatio Nihilo Aition, I suspect that this is the first game the develope…13 found this helpful
RPG Maker strikes again! Creatio Ex Nihilo: Aition is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club weeaboo fan fiction. Basically, these guys didn't make a game, they filled out a couple of templates in a construction kit. This RPG Maker flip has been dumped on Steam as a cash grab by Shoho Games, who've made a "career" out of ripping off store assets and putting together lazy construction kit games (GameGuru etc) and badging them as if they're proper games. That kind of thing is unethical, and yet here we are with Shoho doing it once again. Like all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options. Resolution is locked and the game features 2D retro pixel art asset flips. All of this makes this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. Gamers who want a good retro JR…4 found this helpful
Creatio Ex Nihilo: Aition is an ambitious, concept-driven indie RPG that reaches far beyond typical genre conventions by attempting to dramatize the act of creation itself. Developed and published by Shoho Games, the game positions players not as a hero within an existing world, but as the very first being to emerge from nothingness. From this starting point, Aition aims to explore philosophical, mythological, and emotional themes surrounding creation, loneliness, responsibility, and the consequences of divine power, presenting a story that is far more introspective and abstract than most RPGs in its price and scope range. The narrative opens in a void, where the protagonist awakens alone, unbound by time, space, or purpose. This framing immediately establishes the game’s tone: slow, reflective, and heavily dialogue-driven. As the first entity in existence, the player creates companions and lesser beings in an attempt to fill the emptiness of the cosmos, setting into motion a chain of relationships and conflicts that gradually shape the universe. The story unfolds largely through visual-novel-style sequences, internal monologues, and character interactions, placing far more emphas…1 found this helpful
