"Creatures of Energy" is a simple PvP tile capture game that works a bit like "Go" had a fight with a Rubiks Clock. You make "creatures" which occupy a number of tiles, pasting it in a different position, the copy must overlap the original, which determines the moves you can make. There's no players, because the quality is quite poor, so you have to play against AI, which isn't much fun. The graphics aren't great, low quality game assets, 3D, but not great 3D. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game.
