First game is enjoyable to some extent, even outside of nostalgia reasons. Second game is barely playable due to insane lag. Third game? third game.... yeah. Third game is just absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the mummy level with the fireball disappearing is just miserable to go through. Less than half of what is offered to the table can me considered a "decent" game so yeah... out of all flash games you could think of to revisit, this collection is one of the worse for sure.

I played a ton of flash games in my childhood and always remembered Crush the Castle as a staple, an undisputed OG of Armor games. But coming back to it via this collection I realized that,
damn, those games are actually not that fun.
As a whole experience I would not recommend this collection, especially if you intend to 100% it. Crush the Castle 1: Decently fun time waster. It has a good balance of strategy, sandboxiness with all kinds of ammo you can use, and most importantly - randomness and chaos when destroying the set pieces. Achievements require you just to complete the levels however and with as many shots as you want. Crush the Castle 2: It can be classified as a torture device. Visually it is way uglier than CTC1. Levels are more repetitive and uninspired. The key crap factor here is the fact that devs increased how much dmg units can take before dying. This results in them often tanking entire towers on their heads, stopping you from finishing the level, even when you did exactly what devs intended for this level. To 100% you need to complete most of the levels with one shot. It's not that hard, but definitely adds an additional hour or so to 100% playt…

about 15 years ago these three games were basically the best physics-based free browser games you could find. obviously on steam they aren't free anymore but are they still any good? it's pure nostalgia so if you liked crush the castle back then you'll probably still like it now. but if you don't know these games from many moons ago there is actually very little reason to bother now. reason being the jank of days gone is part of the actual experience! the physics part is reeaaally basic and often times the unexpected happens. sometimes you need to restart a mission three times before stuff stops falling over on its own at the start of a mission. important items like TNT crates may end up in the wrong spot breaking planned chain reactions and making the mission impossible to win. at the same time i have won more than one mission with zero shots fired since the castle started collapsing and blowing up right from the start. haters will say it was luck but i say it was skill! keep in mind i played all of this over 10 years ago already and i was delighted to see that even after all this time i still could handle the catapult really well and win many missions first try. however…

Heh, the rose-tinted glasses are strong with this one too. This was another of the big games in my childhood, and I'm pleased to have it in my library as an adult. Have fun folks, Best of luck.
