About CRYO
What is CRYO?
CRYO is a cooperative horror game that combines various horror elements seen in many beloved horror titles, into a brand new experience set in the harsh landscape of Antarctica. In CRYO, you and your team are technicians, sent to various locations within the antarctic circle at the behest of the powerful genetics company, ANGENEX. But these aren’t your run of the mill inspections. Communication has stopped and now, something sinister awaits. The cold is the least of your worries as terrifying, mutated abominations stalk the halls, hunting your every move. You’ll need to work together, strategize, and use your wits to survive and escape. Every decision matters, and every second counts in this high-stakes, cooperative horror experience. Will you make it out alive, or become just another frozen experiment? The choice is yours.
Features
- AI. Monsters in CRYO are driven by a complex AI system that will use various sensory and environmental cues to help it hunt.
- Stealth. Use lockers and crouching to sneak around to avoid being detected.
- Multiple Monsters. Each game, a new monster is selected at random. Monsters behave differently to one another, some rely on brute force where as others will utilise the environment to sneak around.
- Objectives. You must complete your primary objectives on a map, this can involve puzzles and finding items. These objectives randomise each time so you may have to visit new areas each time you play.
- Procedural item placement. Items are placed around the map each round in various logical locations. They can be hidden in cupboards and drawers, on desks or even behind locked doors.
- Environmental Hazards. The antarctic is an unforgiving landscape. Players will need to plan ahead if they wish to succeed.
- Escape Routes. Should you wish to succeed, you will need to find a way out. There are multiple options of escape each map, however, many will have limited spaces...
- Difficulty. CRYO has multiple difficulty options that scale both the scarceness of items but also increase the intelligence of the AI. Teamwork and quick thinking will serve you well.
- Co-op at heart. While playable solo, teamwork will make your life easy. Everything is designed with cooperative play in mind. Play with 1-4 players per lobby!
- Tools. Various tools are available in CRYO, from music players and cameras to motion detectors. How you choose to use them is up to you.

Learning that this game came from the same team that had developed Labyrinthine was a surprise. I had no idea they made another game until I had seen the not so subtle references to it in game. Despite that, this new IP they put out fits the bill for a good online co-op horror game. This game is both fun and difficult (especially your first couple times). The horror aspect pulls through really well, to the point that I find my hairs standing on edge. Audible character breathing and heartbeat sound effects whenever your in imminent danger lend more to the feel of actually being trapped in an isolated facility trying to avoid a looming threat. While I do recommend playing this game, I do not recommend it as it is now. There currently is only one level available with the main difference being that one of three monsters has a chance to show up. Granted, it is in early access, and the developers do have a Trello board highlighting what's to come and what is currently being worked on. If you do intend on buying it, then do so at a discounted price. There just is not enough content to justify the current $15 price tag in my current opinion.3 found this helpful

This is fun, but kinda boring solo. my only gripes is: The one and only map gets boring fast and there's no on demand map in your tablet (which would be super useful when outside where you can't see more than 4ft in front of you). Other than that: it's solid
The game continues to crash and bug out consistently whenever I try to play. I can usually play for 30-40 minutes before it either completely crashes or kicks me out of the game. Really wish it would work properly as this could be a really fun game.
The game has the potential to be good but I feel like your hiding more then doing what your supposed to. Definitely needs improvement
What monstrum 2 should have been! Very good and fun gameplay
