Cult Vacui is a point & click with survival horror elements,
set in the late 19th century on the remote island of Barra in Scotland.We play an unsuspecting janitor who has been given a job opportunity to maintain the Gladstone family's summer estate. What we discover is that the day before we arrived, a gruesome blood ritual was performed on the island's population at the hands of a creepy cult.
A RACE AGAINST THE CLOCK
Our arrival has ruined the ritual, which can only be considered concluded if every person in the perimeter of the island is eliminated.
Apparently we are their last obstacle... at least that is what we believe.
We have a few hours to prepare for the last act of their insane ritual; we must prepare a strategy to defend ourselves and (hopefully) survive.

Best parts: -The art was amazing -The story was compelling -The puzzles were interesting -The dialogue was meaningful -I love spooky cult stories -Your decisions do have impact on outcome (mainly failure or success) and you can see what happens when you miss certain parts of the puzzle and times runs out. "Difficult" Aspects: -Time management is a big deal. Every time you travel is important. If you aren't careful you will be redoing the same part several times. -Autosave does not exist -Sometimes there are glitches which made me have to restart, so don't click esc during cutscenes lol -For some reason I thought inventory spots would be limited to the number of spots on your screen but it has no limit. I kept trying to go back home and set things aside and which wasted my play time limit. (However this is totally user error, it was just an assumption I made based off of other games I have played). I am not saying any of the negative things to deter people from playing this, I really enjoyed it. Once again, beautiful art, compelling story, interesting puzzles. Don't Escape 2 if it were totally goffik instead of a child of the zombie craze. The art's pretty great, the atmosphere is on point. Really, my only complaint is the length: I want more!1 found this helpful
A fun point and click game that reminds me of the dont escape flash games of my youth that I would play on the schools computer lab. While a little simple in plot and art, it posses a charming and forbidding soul. It may not reinvent the wheel but its short and sweet.

"Cult Vacui" is a valiant effort to present a point-and-click survival adventure with a time management system, but I must admit I was expecting more. All the puzzles are very straightforward, it’s obvious what you have to do to prepare yourself for an optimal defense against the attack of the cult, and it’s hard to miss anything important. Hard, but not impossible, because the fairly strict time restriction doesn’t allow for much leeway in your sequence of events. Thanks to the manual save system, though, you can easily go back a few steps and do things differently, resulting in a game that takes less time to finish than I took writing this review. It still lacks some polish, but the pixel art graphics are a joy to behold, the haunting music will keep you on the edge of your seat, and the story is suspenseful enough to keep you going.
