Cupid Story: First Date

"Cupid Story: First Date" is barely a game... this is more like a browser/Flash text heavy cringefest where the author relives his fantasy of someone finding him a girlfriend. Apart from the godawfully cringey high school anime club dropout fan-fiction writing, you've got some static images probably slapped together with a character image creator, badly and barely animated, and not much else at all. As always, I don't believe Steam was intended as a competitor to Chrome and Firefox... if it can be done in a web browser, it doesn't belong in your Steam library. The graphics aren't great, just those barely animated static images and of course cringe writing so bad you'll want to hurl. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. Cute little game.The only complain I have to give is what is the point giving a deadline when in the end nothing happened.I jynxed it to see a bad ending but sadly nothing happened, days just continued.The insctructror doesn't even mention it.

This is a fun dating sim. While the fights during the dates can be samey, the different love interest have enough different quirks that makes you think how best to handle each fight. Sure you got some easy fights that can be two shouted but the bosses at the end are more tanky with status effect that can stack over time. And while I did notice the same lines during some dates, the different LI's at least have their own thing going on. So yeah, while this feels like a complete game already, I hope they do more of this.

Genuinely good game with fun game mechanics! Excited to check out Supernova's other projects!
