"Cyber Ops Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Cyber Ops". Cyber Ops is a rather low effort tactical strategy game about arrows. My full review is here: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198030784015/recommended/863460 But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Cyber Ops, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Cyber Ops Prologue" too. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to shell out a whopping $15 USD on buying Cyber Ops, and I don't recommend you do that either. Finished the tutorial mission, then played the whole thing again without the hand-holding. Pros: + solid concept, visuals and sound. + using player's attention span as a resource is clearly genius. + easy to follow hacking metaphors, no tech degree needed. + helpful QoL micro-features like audible quips when your hacking processes are in danger and access to hacking actions from several different interface elements. Devs really thought it through. Cons: - Bug: Squad moving in stealth mode would often get stuck in doors that are parallel to their route. - LoS issues. Squad don't see further than 30 ft/10 meters across and would eagerly bump into the working turret if you don't scan around religiously. That brings us to.. - Pathfinding issues. "Road traffic" metaphor is inadequate. First target, last target and detours can't even be close to waypoints and exact path plotting. Also couldn't find a way to split the squad for the pincer movement. - Squad commander, well, she don't command on the field. No tactical movement, no covering flanks, no ambushes, basically you're babysitting a bunch of guys with guns. - Enemy issues. You can unlock doors, fry their devices, get into the sho…

Визуально стильная, с приятным неоновым оформлением, игра сразу погружает в атмосферу хакерской реальности. Геймплей, хоть и не отличается особой сложностью в прологе, предоставляет базовое понимание механик взлома и защиты систем, которые, надеюсь, будут более развиты в полной версии. Сюжет интригует, представляя главного героя как начинающего кибер-оперативника, которому предстоит столкнуться с серьезными угрозами. Понравилась система прокачки и возможности кастомизации персонажа. Оптимизация хорошая, игра шла плавно без каких-либо проблем. Единственный минус – малая продолжительность, хотелось бы больше контента. В целом, Cyber Ops Prologue оставляет положительное впечатление и подогревает интерес к полной Cyber Ops. Отличный способ скоротать пару часов и почувствовать себя крутым хакером. Однозначно рекомендую попробовать всем, кто интересуется темой кибербезопасности и киберпанка.
