To use a controller you might have to enable the support for your controller in the steam setting under controller tab, and then go under the general controller setting and enable the support for your specific controller. If that doesn't work we recommend DS4Windows

Cycle of The Moon is a free roguelike with interesting core mechanics that players find promising, but it's hampered by significant execution issues. The main complaints center on clunky combat mechanics—slow stamina regeneration paired with constant damage-over-time effects makes gameplay feel tedious, enemy attacks lack variety and can be easily avoided making dodging pointless, and enemies are often poorly placed in clusters. While some appreciate the map design and roguelike elements, many feel the game suffers from rough polish, dated visuals, and a general sense of being an unfinished pr
Cycle of The Moon is game has potential but, screws it up via the stamina, attacks and DOT (damage over time) first the stamina bar is fine in size but the regeneration is way too slow and makes this game feel very clunky as you run out of stamina and you have to run around to you regenerate your health. that combined with the constant DOT makes the fun combat into a boring frustrating slog. Second, enemy placement is too clumped together and reminds me of ds2. Third, the enemies' attacks are plain as most of them you can just walk around them making the dodge roll useless. Running does not cost stamina and is really bad. The rouge-like elements are fun, but the rest of it just makes it not fun. maybe make the vampire aspects buff you not nerf you like for 5 seconds after killing an enemy, increases movement speed for 5 seconds. In conclusion, if the devs ever want to update this game remove/turn down though preferably remove the DOT, increase stamina regeneration and give the enemies more moves and fix the lock-on. I feel this review has touched on the main issues in this game, but there're still other issues.4 found this helpful
"Cycle of The Moon" is a badly made, kinda asset flip looking tech demo/homework assignment... it's a very clunky third person brawler. There's no content, the developer decided "procgen IS content!" so just used samey algorithms to populate the game, but given how bad the graphics and gameplay are, it would be difficult for anyone to play this long enough to notice. This has some really mediocre looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarly visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to …2 found this helpful
Before I played Cycle of The Moon, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
2 found this helpful
This game was made as a project and I would say it has a lot of potential past that. The enemy's design and variety for their purpose were fairly good. Additionally, the map size was pretty much perfect for the system that it uses. The objective was clear as it is visible from the starting point and you just need to follow the path to get to it. It's a linear experience and that is not a bad thing at all. Now for the improvements. The usage of the shape tool was extremely jarring and all around visible at all times. The combat was fairly well designed but could use some fine-tuning, dodging behind enemies to avoid their attacks seemed pointless and they would just turn to you. Rewards for tougher enemies! I did not see any sort of reward for defeating challenging enemies such as the beam of death dudes, so I just avoided them in the end so I would not get stun locked by the beam. Finally the boss, I feel like he was too easy. The only dangerous aspect of it was the phase two and that was more so because it was somewhat unavoidable. Additionally he was easier than the death beam guys. Overall I would say this game served its purpose as a project but could be polished into someth…1 found this helpful
