Damned explores the sense of being defenseless against a powerful supernatural force. The survivors can’t directly affect the monster in any way. When it’s there to get you, your only chance is to run and hide.
This perception of being defenseless is very strong, primal and terrifying, it builds up anxiety and makes you really scared, fearing any unexplained noise or movement.

As a survivor you’ll be cooperating with your friends (up to 4 survivors in a single game session):
You and your friends will be searching the level for keys and items to help in your escape;
Each survivor will have a flashlight that can be turned on and off, helping you see your surroundings, but at the same time letting the monster know where you are;
The survivors will be able to manipulate objects throughout the hotel, like drawers, doors, safes, cabinets, wardrobes;
Challenge yourself to find the exit and get out alive.
- How to play as the monster?
As the monster, your game will be all about competing alone against the survivors team.
The game will feature different monsters, each one unique in its play style. It's up to you to play a few rounds with each monster and decide which one works best for you.

And also because it’s really fun to play as the monster as well. You’ll keep haunting and building up anxiety in people, making them terribly scared of you. We really put you in the skin of a terrifying monster.

Haven't played this game since year 11 which was 11 years ago.............. I forgot you needed a email and password to play this game. Very outdated game indeed.10 found this helpful
There's not much point in reviewing a game that's just been removed from the Steam Store - an action that's been long overdue, as the updates and fixes to the game stopped in 2019 and the game never really got finished properly - but seeing as the developers are coming up with a sequel, it might not be that purposeless afterall. [i]Damned[/i] had great potential and it came out before the 4 vs 1 multiplayer horror setup - where all the victims/survivors AND the monster are controlled by players - and became a common (sub)genre. Unfortunately there are many things which were (and sadly left) inherently flawed. The game features 4 different monsters to choose from and 4 survivors who don't differ from each other than their appearence, with 11 rather similar looking maps. The survivors' goal is to work together and find keys, to open the matching doors (silver key opens the silver doors, rusty key opens the rusty (?) doors, etc.) and get to the exit eventually, while the monster is intent on preventing them from doing so. While the maps come with different props and visual style (they are slightly randomly generated), most of them are very similar and can be described as generic cl…7 found this helpful

What the ♥♥♥♥ hapneed bro, they made a 2? and it is carap. i liked the 1. 1 go crazy.. 2 is dogcrap. I would never 2, I would only 1 (not at the toilet) I have to poop doing this review.
I used to play this game on my crappy old laptop with my three brothers (each with their own crappy old laptop), all in the same room for some reason. The game ran like ♥♥♥♥ and was very finicky to get running without one of us crashing (admittedly possibly due to our hardware). And yet, I look back on those nights staying up until 3 AM playing Damned quite fondly, as it was peak gaming. It was actually scary to run around hiding from the monster, and it was awesome to be able to scare the ♥♥♥♥ out of everyone as the monster yourself. Can't say I've played another game since that has made me feel the same rush. Thank you 9heads for all the great memories. I'll have to pick up Damned 2 and see if I can get my brothers together for another gaming session.
