About Dark and Deep
I created Dark and Deep because I wanted to bring a totally new visual aesthetic to the horror genre. There is not a game that looks like mine. My art process is unique, bringing the illustrations of 19th Century Artist, Gustave Doré into a new dimension. My Journey Making this Game
I have had a lifelong obsession with conspiracies and mythology. I made Dark and Deep to share my love for the strange and ancient with the horror game community. Through the 4-6hr playtime of Dark and Deep, you will be intrigued, unsettled, and mystified by the blend of strange storytelling and meaningful mechanics I have devised for you.
DARK and DEEP You play as Samuel Judge, a loyal fan of the mysterious conspiracy podcast, "Dark and Deep". Plunged into a shadowy and dangerous landscape, you must survive... and you are not alone.
Listen to the podcast. Experience the unraveling as your favorite conspiracy podcast comes too close to home. Become embroiled in a dramatic tale of intrigue and betrayal where the real and surreal collide. Solve physics puzzles using powerful ancient machines of cryptic origin. Manipulate gravity and clear a path through the deadly fog. Use precious embers of light in the darkness to show your way. But beware… The creatures in the shadows want nothing more than to steal your light.
Dark and Deep features a totally unique aesthetic, which uses the art of 19th century master artist, Gustave Doré as the textures for much of the game. Doré was legendary for his detailed black and white illustrations of mythological and historical scenes. Dark and Deep uses his aesthetic to tell a surreal cosmic horror story where the boundaries of sanity and reality are bent and broken.

Do you know why the achievement thats tied to finishing the game has a rate of 3.9%? Because only 4 people out of 11 reviewers finished this. This game is neither an art, a narrative, or a gameplay, even an interesting story. Half of the quotes are googled, not read, as they're mostly their translations from 1800s or so (E.g. ''All hope abandon, ye who enter here'' from a damn reverend from 1814 instead of the modern ''Abandon all hope, ye who enter here'') A game that looks like this have no privilege of having fps drops at times, it ain't no RDR2, it should NOT make even a dent on anything above 1060ti. (I'm using 3070Ti and had fps drops to 30? lol) The ''battle with evil'' combat is awfully boring, just like this game. If you ask me what is the most boring horror media you've consumed, normally i'd say the movie 11.11.11, but this wins the lottery.5 found this helpful

I liked this game, the story was cool and there are a lot of references in there. The game play is a little buggy at times but there is nothing game breaking. I would play this game again and for 10 bucks its a steal.2 found this helpful

I've had an absolute blast with this game so far! The love and care put into it are palpable in every detail. Even though I haven't finished yet, I'm already having so much fun that I know I'll be sad when it finally ends. Looking forward to what comes next. Next time on Dark and Deep...2 found this helpful
layers, and layers, and layers, and layers... Very fun game! I don't often play puzzle games or single player games but this experience was a blast. Very unique puzzles with a fun and trippy story. Sandwich edit goes incredibly hard. If you're interested in cosmic horror this game definitely delivers!1 found this helpful
