Gave this a shot today, unfortunately it didn't hook me in. I'd rec Skelethrone or Plague of Yamorn for a raw indie metroidvania, they feel better to play in every way.

Roughly 5 minutes into the game there's an overpowered boss that mopped the floor with me 10 times in a row and I have no idea how to get past fight, so obviously the game doesn't want me to play it. Game design 101: don't overwhelm the player with unfair boss fights early on in the game.

May God have mercy upon you because this game will not.

This game has more potential than most budgetvanias, but the severly limited map and the janky combat prevent a recommendation. You basically fall upwards for a brief moment when you're hit and the controls are not very response. As for the map, developers have to choose whether the game will automatically add markers for treasures you haven't collected yet or allow the player to place markers so that they can mark places to explore later. This game does neither and effectively has a worse map that super metroid, a game that came out 30 years ago. Although I do not recommend this, I have to give immense praise to the developer for stamping out unity's infamous stutter and creating smooth and polished side scrolling. It is because of this that I see great potential in this game and I hope the developer will improve upon it.

This game really lacks polish The platforming feels janky Inputs keep getting eaten in combat And the first boss is designed around blocking his attacks and attacking afterward But sometimes he just ignores the block + his AI breaks from time to time and start wildly attacking where you can't respond to it i haven't bothered getting further it, there are to many issues in the first 15 minutes and i doubt it will improve later on
