This shows the extraordinary hard work that Elroy Saltzherr put into the game with his 6+ years of unity game design experience. The lore of this game is more intense than elden ring and game play is better than haides. how this wasn't nominated for game of the year is a crime of humanity. If i was looking to hire a game designer then Elroy Saltzherr would be my first pick for an amazing game.

"Dark Throne" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. I'm not sure if this is a student project (if so, they all failed) or if it's just from a bunch of would-be developers wondering why nobody in the gaming industry would hire them (this game explains why), but either way, this is awful. A run of the mill pixelcrap platformer trying and failing to capture that Castlevania feeling. You take on the role of a knight with amnesia, and I could really relate to that character because after playing this I desperately wanted amnesia to take the memory of this garbage away. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. Nice game! Sure its got some bugs here and there, but game is peak with its intense movement and tough battles. Can't wait for the sequel!
