Overall phenomenal Metroidvania, completely fell in love with the art style and the deep, tragic lore. A massive highlight is the fact that they stayed loyal to just one band, Mili, to make the entire OST. The music fits the aesthetic of the game perfectly. The gameplay itself is smooth and playable at any pace. I love how it still keeps that classic Metroidvania charm where you can use movement cheese to break into areas early that you shouldn't be able to access yet. Figuring out those shortcuts feels amazing. Highly recommend it even as your first Metroidvania game ever. The game runs incredibly well even on low end devices. (unlike the sequel which was made in UE5 *cough cough*)

beautiful music! great songs but the ads all feel annoying as hell, the bosses are very one sided, either a total pushover or a absolute slog fest. now all this, I don't mind so much, it's the awful endgame fetch quest, the hidden collectables and some of the worst platforming stunt I have to learn to get to certain collectables for a collect-a-thon that really sent me for the last decision to not recommend this game, it's okay if you don't care about the ending but I do. just look up the soundtrack instead.
