✦ AI summary

Players criticize Data Rush for its outdated 2D visuals and poor presentation, describing it as a mediocre educational game that feels more like mobile fare than a modern title. The game's French-only language limitation and apparent monetization despite being advertised as free are additional frustrations, though players acknowledge its educational content about data concepts has some merit.

"Data Rush : La course aux données" is an opportunity to play a really mediocre "adventure" game in 2D with some really, really bad visuals and learn a bit about data, only in French, because I guess in France they need video games to teach them about data. Data, being the plural of datum, rather than the android character on TV's Star Trek: The Next Generation. There's no English translation for the game, but that's okay. The language of bad games is universal. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free…
