daydream mosaics is essentially jewel match nonograms. hardly surprising, as they share a developer responsible for some stuff there and pretty much everything here. and they're very much commendable for adding a new game mode upon request (even if it took a year) to make things work like in a proper nonogram, and not only providing it for the latest 3rd entry, but patching it into the first two games as well. there are 108 levels divided into 3 chapters, levels are unlocked one by one, going up to 25x25 (or thereabouts, nothing bigger than that), each with multiple colors. solving a layer or even just a few lines might help with another one, so make sure to switch around if you can. it looks like all those style over substance efforts with no basic functionality, but even in its initial form this was better, as it has mid-level saving. and of course numbers get crossed off one by one (sometimes, see below), the timer only appears on the level complete screen and no guessing is necessary after a patch fixing a few iffy levels, though there are power-ups (sometimes) to help you out if you want, hidden under random cells. Lovely nonogram game made by a couple of people who also work on the Jewel Match games. Relatively easy puzzles and quite a few customization options available. Soothing soundtrack which gets a little boring if you play for a long time. No minigames or storyline. The original version of this game did not feature the current version's "freestyle" mode, in which there's no mistake counter and you have to manually mark off all unused squares with no auto-completing of rows/columns when you finish a row or column. This new feature is great for those who like to fiddle around a bit with their nonograms to solve them on their own without additional help, but I personally prefer one of the other play modes with the challenge of playing with a mistake counter as I'm a very deliberate player who doesn't click on anything unless I know that square is used or unused. Note that a few levels have also been edited slightly from the original to make all levels now solvable with logic only. The later games of this series are even better with a storyline (which spans the entire series starting with DDM2) and minigames so if you enjoyed Daydream Mosaics, you'll want the sequels too.1 found this helpful
